  1. I have one, my 12 year old struggled with it. He’s now moved on to a Kofs 20 bore and finds that much easier.
  2. Afternoon All, I’ve just purchased a Victor Sarasqueta 20 bore sidelock, with hand detachable locks, and a third bite. I’ll post pictures once I’ve collected it, and hopefully someone may know the model. Should go nicely with the 12!
  3. Having a clear out as rarely use a 12 anymore. 24x 32 gram 5 shot plas wad. 6x 36 gram 3 shot plas wad. £15 collection Dereham Norfolk, certificate must be shown.
  4. Has anyone got one of these? The round bodies look very good, and sensibly priced.
  5. I believe the only way is to either make the front wheels spin, or get it up on a ramp with the wheels off the ground.
  6. Need a 20 bore, but looks good gun for the money.
  7. Now considering whether a used Lincoln or Medallist in good condition may be a better bet.
  8. A word of warning to anyone looking to buy one second hand, from 2010 onwards, test the AWD system thoroughly, they have a habit of stripping the casing in the gearbox where the transfer box drive inputs, leaving you front wheel drive only but shows no fault codes etc, and a big repair bill. My wife’s Sorento has just suffered this at 52k miles.
  9. My father used to have a couple of 12’s, a 16 and a 20 bore. The 16 was the nicest to shoot.
  10. CG’s seem to depreciate much more brownings, so a used one may be a good buy. I have a couple of friends who bought new CG’s and both had problems, one wouldn’t fire the bottom barrel, and another the stock finish wore off in a few months and looked terrible. They may have just been unlucky.
  11. Through my teenage years my favourite gun was my Dad’s Browning B2000, low recoil, 26 inch skeet barrel and ultra reliable. Great gun for clays and pigeons.
  12. Junior jacket in medium which is age 7-8 by their size guide. No rips or tears, not had a massive amount of use. Collection Near East Dereham, Norfolk or post at buyers cost. £10.
  13. Looking for a junior gun for my eldest who’s 12, ideally a 20 bore but possibly a 28 depending on what he feels more comfortable with. I understand the Kofs and Yildiz are both budget guns so I can’t expect too much, but these seem to fit the bill and have good warranty. I’ve no experience of either, so any feedback from owners would be great.
  14. I’m quite new to side by sides if I’m honest, but I’ve taken the sarasqueta out a couple of days this season, and it’s been enjoyable to use with an ounce of 7’s.
  15. For a change and by coincidence nearly every member of my small syndicate were shooting side by sides today. I took my fathers victor sarasqueta out for the day, most of the others were AYA’s in various guises, yeomans, number 4’s, and a single 25. Along with a like new 70’s Webley 700.
  16. The little 410 seems to be more popular than ever, but going forward is there really a viable non toxic alternative to lead other than TSS?
  17. Evening All, Looking for any available roost shooting in February, central Norfolk.
  18. Without going in to the lead debate, it’s good to see more 20 bore loads coming through. Has anyone tried the Gamebore Black Gold or Hull High Pheasant steel? I hear mixed reviews on the Eleys. I noticed Hull have a new 16 bore high pheasant steel load now available too with the hydrowad, no doubt others will follow.
  19. I’ve seen some terrible looking new silver pigeons. I can too remember when you could buy either a new silver pigeon or new grade 1 browning for under £1000, and they looked better than the equivalent today for in some cases double the price.
  20. Definitely know what you mean, I haven’t owned a B2G but have shot a few B25’s, no new gun in that price range would come anywhere close, in my opinion.
  21. Just wondered if anyone else thinks the quality of modern guns has gone down considerably. Friends of mine have had quality problems with both berettas and Caesar guerinis. I’ve always shot brownings and swapped my 425 I had for years for a 725, and the clearcote on the action came off in months. Bought a new A5 sixteen bore which had to go back for a refund as couldn’t get it to cycle, whereas my old B2000 is faultless. Gun shop racks seem to be full of guns with hefty price tags but the looks and finish don’t seem to justify them.
  22. RC2 competition would be my choice for a good value pigeon load if I still shot a 12 bore regularly, Italian 7.5 which as mentioned is a UK 7. I think 7 shot is overlooked for pigeons and game, I’ve found it does the job perfectly at normal ranges.
