  1. Thanks for all the nice messages guys. The FEO rang me aswell to say he had done the paperwork and it's up to the mail room now as to how fast I can get it. Going shooting Wednesday so I will finally be able to try it out with my shooting buddy hopefully if my licence is here I can bring her home with me(going to call her Betty the browning)
  2. Absolutely buzzing. I see you have a 425 aswell. How do u like it any pros/cons
  3. Hi all. Just to update from my other post about waiting for my home visit. Well the very nice man from the Manchester team has just left. Very helpful and polite. Says my SGC will be with me in the next week or two. Whoooooooooooooooahhhhhhhhhh. How happy am I. Perfect birthday present. As soon as it hits the mat I'm off to my shooting buddys to pick my shotgun up he very kindly bought in his name for me then off to Manchester clay shooting club to test it out as I've not had the chance to let a few shots off yet,All in all it took 2 weeks from application to phone call about home visit then one more week for the visit. 3 weeks in total plus hopefully a week for the sgc to turn up. So I'm now on postman watch as of Monday.
  4. Hi Karl. Did u tell the feo about your burglary or did he have it on record
  5. Hi all. Just spoke to the FEO and they have sent it to be cashed just takes a while apparently. I'm Soooooooo excited it's like waiting for the best Xmas present ever. It makes it worse that I've already got my shotgun but my mate been too busy with work to go and use it yet so it's just sat in his cabinate. Home visit is on my birthday aswell. Must be fate
  6. Hi phil m. Did they cash your cheque straight away. I'm very impressed at the speed gmp has handled it after reading some of the horror stories on here of people waiting 6 months
  7. Hi to all p w folks. Fairly new to shooting but sent my licence application off on the 15th of this month and got a call from the FAO on the 28th saying he would be doing my home visit a week later. My problem is that he's coming this Friday but the cheaque I sent still hasn't been cashed. I have read that if u get a home visit you have passed the background checks and just got to pass the home visit but it is worrying me why the cheque hasn't been cashed yet. My shooting buddy has allowed me to buy my shotgun under his name and keeps it at his but I'm desperate to get my licence as I'm addicted to clay shooting at the mo. Can Anyone shead any light on this for me as everywhere I've read says the cheque get cashed straight away. I'm in Manchester if that helps. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Mike
