  1. Hey dannyboy. I put in for my variation just before the cash from new CC but took about 3 months still. So might be quicker. Good luck with open cert. How many perms you got??? My FEO said he wouldn't give me an open ticket till I had at least 6 perms and I've had FAC for 4 years now with .22. Put in for .243 and .223.
  2. Thanks. I know about the different calibres for my mate he has to be there and hold the bullet heads and the completed rounds. Space is not a problem as I have a small gun room and have a reloading bench I built for the job.
  3. Hi Looking at getting into reloading .243. But how do you pick your reloading press. I'm only starting out so don't want to spend loads on equipment so looking at the lee precision equipment. But what to get. Should I starter with a lee loader or go for a press?? If I go for a press then what one? Reloaded press or one of the ones like a breech lock press??? I plan to load small amounts at a time and plan to use fire formed cases. So will best to neck size. But a friend wants me to reload for them as well in a different calibre 25-06. So will need 2 sets of dies or 2 lee loaders anyways. So what's the best solution do you think???
  4. Where's best to get this from what's the usual price??
  5. Just looking at a lighter faster round for fox and then probably 100gr for deer. What powder you using??
  6. Got one wondering how people decide what powder to use
  7. I'm waiting for my ticket so haven't got a rifle yet. But looking at the tikka t3 in .243. Wanting it for fox and deer. So looking in the load data the lighter weights for fox powder is not the best powder for the heavier deer rounds so is it just best to get 2 different powders to do the 2 different bullet weights??
  8. So looking at getting into reloading once my ticket comes back. But how do you decide what powder to use??? I've got the lee loading manual so have the loading data but what powder??? So many!!
  9. How do these do at low light levels??
  10. Ok So I'm after a vehicle that can be used for lamping. So a pickup ideally or some short wheelbase 4x4. But as cheap as possible. Free would be ideal. Doesn't have to road legal as can trailer away and will be used on pheasent shoot so can leave on site. So long as it runs and stops that's fine. Based in north Kent so closer the better but can travel to pickup. Cheers.
  11. Just wondering with these bipods. I'm in the camp for if it works then use it regardless of brand/cheapness. On my .22lr and air rifles I use just cheap Harris style bipods but waiting for my .243 ticket and wonder if people find that the cheap ones work on the bigger centrefires???
  12. Anyone know of a local Gunshop in north Kent that has a selection of Binos to look at?? The ones i normally go to either don't seem to do them or don't have a wide range of them to look at.
  13. What's the difference between the el and scl anyone know?? How do the Leica compare to the ELs???
  14. Hi all. Just starting out stalking. Been out with a friend of mine a quite a few times now. Been using his rifle and he does the spotting with his Binos and I just follow and take the shot when told to. But now I'm getting my own rifle hopefully for deer and want to be able to go to my own high seat and so need a pair of Binos myself. My friend is using Swarovski 10x50. They are really good. But are they the best??? What features should I be looking for in a pair?? What is the differences between the different models of Swarovski's el scl etc
