  1. I have bought alot of stuff from Shootwarehouse and their service has always been excellent, long may it continue
  2. I used Tipex on both the neck and wing bars, I noticed that on rape that was well developed for this time of year they did stand out more than what they did when I bought them and I did have a few birds make a quick direction change to come onto my decoys. So i'll be sticking with Tipex when they need a touch up.
  3. I did a change of address about 2 months ago for my SGC with Humberside and to be honest I could'nt fault the service I got, the only delay was mine, I was away when they came to check my cabinet, as soon as I phoned them they came out the next day, done dusted and 5 days later SGC back in my possesion, total time taken 4 weeks. I have read some horror stories but mine was painless.
  4. Seems more con's than pro's, guess I'll be sticking with my Poles & Nets. Like I said just seeing what the general view was on them. :look:
  5. Pigeon Decoying, just weighting up the pro's and con's.
  6. Has anyone got a "off the shelf" hide they use regularly and are they worth having? I have seen some on various websites (mainly wildlife watching hides)and have been toying with the idea of opening my wallet and getting one. I have seen some for about the £120 mark and looking at the price of Good Hide poles & and a quality net the cost difference is'nt that much. I already have Hides poles/cam net x 2 (sides and roof), ie: the normal hide rig, but just wondered if any had one, uses it, and thinks its worth it? or not. Rgds Toon
  7. I checked out there website the other day, membership fee's seem reasonable as does the price for clays. Definetly going to pop in there as I only live down the road, its good to have something like that on the door step. My link
  8. Thanks for all the input guys, will try tipex and acrylic, bit of mix and match see which gives the best results, sure they'll both do the trick. Smig4373: - Quality.......

  10. Afternoon all, I have just been reading John Batley's quality book "The Pigeon Shooter". He comments on the white neck and wing bands on the pigeon as a major attractant to other Pigeons. My decoys have these markings (Obviously) but to my mind they are not as clear and distinct as the real birds, anyone got any tips on how to improve these markings without making a mess of my decoys?
  11. Hi all, Went out on Saturday to a few fields I can shoot over near Goole. I had a uneventful morning, not a shot fired !!! I moved fields in the afternoon with the hope of not going home with a "Blank" (I did blank as it happens). It was windy, the rain came on and off most of the day so as you can imagine I was not best pleased, but you win some you lose some was the thought running through my mind. What did brighten my day was watching a Sparrow Hawk, swooping in to attack one of my plastic decoys not 20 yds from the front of my hide, what a sight, out of nowhere it crashed down onto the decoy and I swear I could see the shock that the decoy did'nt do what the hawk was expecting, it slipped of the plastic back and literally stared eye to eye at the decoy as if to say "What the f@*k is going on here". It was on the ground for a good 5 minutes moving from one decoy to the other before finally flying away. So I blanked, it happens to the best I assume. The weather was ****, but such is life, you can't always have gloriuos sunshine. But that Hawk and its antics will stay with me alot longer than the memory of not having shot a thing all day. Has anyone else had a Hawk attack their decoys?
