I know someone in a similar position and I think he lurks on here. He got himself some HSE qualifications and a white collar job on an oil rig.

Same as me only I’m in construction H&S and I flipping love it !

    Hello again all
Just picked up a new pup yesterday, the breeder has her on Dr Johns Puppy chicken. It seems to get fairly good reviews online but wanted to know if anyone else has any experience with it or other recommendations for a dry food?

I used beta with my last pup but it didn't agree with her and then moved her on to pets at homes own brand, wainwrights, which she thrived on. The pup is in very good condition, she is fairly big for the age and her stools are good. Looking for advice if you would reccomend something else or if it's a case of if she is doing well let her be and continue with the Dr Johns?

    Thanks in advance

    Paul

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 👍

  3. Little update- she’s back with me as she wasn’t happy being left in the house for any period of time.
Today she had her first game retrieve! I could have cried! Marked it, went out when sent, took a little while figuring out how to balance it but then brought it back pleased as punch with herself.

    Thank you

Yes, what a pleasure to have estates offer up ground like that.

As we drove in I saw a load of Deer running the banks I thought oh god this could all go very wrong!! 🤣

Everyone competing was lovely, the judges were lovely, and I had a good chat with the Keeper before going in and he was lovely!

I’ve got 4rd reserve in the trial there again on the 19th so see if anyone drops out.

Fingers crossed for you!! Who was judging? Didn’t join any clubs this year as our guys are all young, we’ve left too much of a gap really to be honest but hey ho…!

  5. Well done Lloyd, I think I know exactly where that last photo was taken!!

It’s lovely ground once you do that loop and start back on the bank isn’t it!

Last time we were there at a trial hubby’s dog ran in and the Judge spent the whole journey back ringing him trying to buy the dog off him 😂😂

  6. My hubby asked me what I want for my birthday in October - I said a divorce.

Unfortunately he said he wasn’t thinking of spending that much 😂

    Congrats, onwards and upwards 👍

If my dog was e.g. worrying livestock I would buy them a drink and pay for any loss they incurred.

If my dog had attacked a child or person I would have to consider my future.

If my dog had attacked another dog I would pay their vet bills and check that they are ok.

If the dog was shot by accident I would expect them to fall on their sword.

If someone killed my dog for no reason I would not be best pleased, to say the least.

If a vet killed my dog (as has happened previously under anaesthesia) I would expect an explanation of what went wrong and how lessons can be learnt.

With zero context it is just impossible to give a sensible answer.

  8. Flippin’ eck I’m working on the Royal Liverpool University Hospital  project at the moment, I think I’ll be changing my clothes and boots when I get in from work before going anywhere near any of my dogs now 🙈

    Cheers for the heads up!
