  1. It is easy to be negative so I thought I would be positive. My SGC expired at the end of Feb. Got the notifications from the Police at the end of the year and even handed the doctors note over and had it back in time. I then sat on it, purely because I was busy and forgot and didn't post it until just after Christmas. Had to ask about the progress in mid Feb as all was quiet but it was done on time and the "interview" was done over the phone in a few minutes. I have gained quite a few guns over the life of the expiring ticket but they came with cabinets. When I explained this all was great. I think the officer was wondering how 16 guns went into 3 cabinets. They are now in five and all can take 6 at a push. In conversation I mentioned that they were mostly from two family deaths and would be cleared out soon. He said that as they were mostly cheapies, stuff like Midland BLNE 12s and single barrel 12s it might not be worth selling them. I agreed but didn't want to pay a dealer to scrap them. (as my local ones want to do).He suggested seriously wrecking them with an angle grinder and emailing pics of this to him and he would be most happy with that. All round good experience.
  2. No rush really. Just marginally complicating a renewal as I can't tick that box. Can't online as got paper docs notre and the daft online system won't recognise my phone number but won't tell me why. They'll get what I can.
  3. Done just that Dougy and chucked in the query about renewal.
  4. Well I know it might be gone today. I do have the photocopy so I have some records.
  5. Your thoughts please. SGC up for renewal in a few months and when completing the application I go and look for my SGC which I cannot find. Last seen in March when I added some guns of my fathers. Rarely dig the original out as I have enough cartridges to keep Ukraine happy and I carry a copy with me (So as not to lose or damage the original😁) I have a nasty suspicion that my SGC went with my deceased fathers - on the fire. Renewal needs a copy of my ticket which I have but it hasn't got some recent additions on it, only the original does. I can write the recently acquired guns on but of course cannot get a signature of the vendor. I guess the only way is to submit the renewal bumf with a letter stating SGC destroyed and supply what I can on the copy. Any other suggestions?
  6. I am on 16 guns in 5 cabinets so plenty of space. 3 were inherited from my dad in March. 8 came from and uncle in 2015. Both time cabinets arrived as well. No complaints so far. As to reducing them. Why .Things like AYA yeomans and Midland sxs or singles are worthless so what's to be gained by selling up.
  7. Just a thought that worked for a mate. Twice! Theaten to put it in the hands of professional claims management companies. If things go against them they will be liable for the proferssional costs as well. Worked just like this once for my mate and in the second case the insurance company backed down. Can't say this is definite in all case but maybe worth a look.
  8. Out of interest, why?
  9. My old HW80 k would hit film canisters end on at 50 m virtually every time from a rest. With no rest I was lucky if it stayed in the field.
  10. Anyone got a copy they want to part with?
  11. Any size to any size. Just for amusement really. What do you have? Old or modern.
  12. Maybe get some summer wellies with the same soles as your good ones. Studs do really have their limitations as mentioned. Chainsaw wellies can have studs fitted. Look for a seller of them.A stihl dealer maybe.
