  1. Hi, I think it’s definitely political, more like we’re doing our bit for the environment
  2. Hi, yes that’s what I’m now thinking but would prefer to change the barrel thanks for the info I’ll have a look
  3. Hi A friend of mine had his browning stock and four end done by this gentleman ian lingham gunsmith, repairs and restoration 01622 884536 Email ianlingham22@gmail.com nr sittingbourne give him a try hope this helps.
  4. Hi, and long may you continue. I don’t plan on giving up any time soon either
  5. Hi, let me put you straight I don’t shoot with high end, guns I just load for the people that do. agreed, you’re both right, they just don’t like the idea of shooting with steel, I suppose some will pack up and some will carry on even though their guns probably are capable of using steel, but that’s not my decision all I know is what is being said
  6. He will hand his shotgun down to his son!. He shoots probably one day a season, and daddy pays for the day
  7. Hi interesting so a knew barrel would be cheaper than buying a new gun as well, have you any ideas on the twist rate?
  8. Hi, I’ll tell you what scully if they don’t sort the 22 rimfire ammunition out you can buy my 22rf for 50 quit🤫
  9. Yeah, gone way off topic now I blame Holloway he bought the subject up about shotgun cartridges😂😂
  10. Maybe because he seems to think it’s an antique
  11. I’ve already offered him 30 quit for it i’ll let you know if you have it gets back to me 😂😂
  12. Fair play to you, I think it’s all different reasons for packing up some of these guns are heirlooms I wouldn’t be worth handing down if they was knackered some of them are not renewing their shot gun licenses, because they I can’t be bothered to jump through hoops doctors certificates and all that
  13. Nothing, but it’s a good excuse to not carry on when the steel band comes into force If you had a gun made in 1897, would you want to put steel through it?
  14. Think they’re more worried about the guns blowing up and also some have said the killing instinct isn’t there anymore
  15. Hi, the other side of this coin, I do a lot of loading during the pheasant season season and I’m a member of a syndicate mysel All of the guns, have Purdys and high-end side-by-side, some of which were handed down from their parents and bought for them when they were younger. A lot of the guns are reaching 60 to nearly 80 years old now. The thing is at the stage in life some of them don’t want to buy a new gun so they can shoot steel and don’t want to put steel through there, best Purdys and some of them have mentioned to me when this lead ban comes into affect they will probably pack up shooting A good reason why we need to encourage the younger generation to Shoot
  16. Hi I haven’t seen a good review with lead free in 22lr yet?. there’s one bad review that keeps coming up every time I research 22LR is Field sports Britain field tester and that doesn’t look good at all
  17. Yes, yes let’s all be vegan, and stop all live quarry shooting. The problem with that is the rabbits pigeons and everything else will be eating all crops
  18. Hi, I have used steel in shotguns I would say it’s fine as long as long as you rein your distance in a bit, the thing is, there’s always danger of a ricochet. I have a friend who shoots deer he loads his own ammunition, and he was saying he’s had to push the bullet faster, because the bullet is not expanding, and it’s passing right the way through and carrying on
  19. No, haven’t managed to get hold of any to try yet, i’d like to get hold of some to try
  20. Hi airgun is not really an option for me. I don’t think as these rabbits are in massive cherry orchard, I need something that can stretch of a fair distance up the row
  21. Only a pound a rabbit, but it gives you some money back for ammunition or fuel. That’s a good idea. I never thought. Exactly what I thought, but he reckons I can’t get hold of any at the moment
  22. I’ve found load data for 243 95 grain Hornaday SST with vit n 165 Hornady, 9th addition, Loading manual hope this helps
  23. Yes, I suppose I could do, but I’ve been supplying these for years and since I’ve already asked the question about taking the heads off, it might seem a bit suspicious, if all the rabbits turn up headless. Plus the fact I don’t like lying
