  1. I actually think there slower A friend of mine tried them through his semiauto as well and said the The same. it’s not a lot more it’s just noticeable
  2. Hi I was given a box of 32g 5 Lux to Try took them pigeon shooting last week I must say I’m quite impressed had some good clean kills I wouldn’t normally use a 32g 5 for pigeonLike most on here a 28g 7 1/2 does the job for me but I wanted to try them because I’m interested in using them for pheasant which I think I will be doing, The only thing I noticed they were A bit more punchier then a normal Lead 32g 5 but only just a little bit more punchier 7 1/2 pounds over and under so not too bad on the shoulder but probably not the sort of cartridge you would want to put through a side-by-side
  3. That looks really nice, shame about the holes hope you got a good discount buying half a rifle 😉
  4. Hi Ricky1 One thing you might like to consider is the twits rate of your barrel 1 in 14 and 1 in 12 Would favour Lighter bullets, and another thing if you might start reloading? These are all things to consider I have a 223 1 in 9 twist and 22.250 1in12 twist as has been said the 223 is a very capable calibre and ammunition is easy to get hold of The 22.250 is a bit more capable than the 223 it’s very comparable to the 204 but the ammunition is more expensive And also Barrel wear depending on how much you’re going to shoot it if it’s just for foxing you would have no concerns i’ve shot more than 3000+ rounds with mine and it still shooting fine if I had to choose one it would probably be the 22.250 but I do reload for them both which makes a big difference on the22.250 are use a predator Wildcat 12 which does the job nicely and on 223 are use a predator wildcat eight hope this helps regardssf1
  5. No i use iStrelok but not the pro version. The version I have doesn’t ask for bullet length I’ve just measured a 55gr vmax @ 20.76 The bullet length will vary because of the plastic tip and manufacturing and you probably will need to take the coefficient with a pinch of salt as well because a lot of manufacturers tend to stretch the truth a bit but it’s a good place to start
  6. Okay thanks not what I’m looking for good luck with the sale
  7. If this is a Neck bushing Die I will have it please
  8. Enjoy, let us know how you get on👍
  9. Hi the bullet coefficient is 0.255 For the 55gr vmax Bullet diameter .224 5.68mm I probably would use G1 not sure what what you mean by Length is that cartridge overall lenght or bullet Head length ?
  10. Great shooting it just goes to show what can be achieved when you do your homework, I certainly wouldn’t fancy being a fox on your permission thanks for sharing
  11. I do understand it’s not easy and I’m not suggesting you should shoot rabbits in a 25 mile an hour wind, you could put targets up in different wind’s and different positions and perhaps wait for the wind to die down before a shot is taken. I shoot off of Quad stick’s tripod off the back of A vehicle and out of the driver-side passenger-side windows and faced the same trouble as you, maybe not quite the same as you living in North Wales A beautiful part of the country by the way been there many times
  12. I shoot once a month on a range that is right on the seafront I’ve shot in all weather conditions, don’t have a choice on the weather as the ranges are booked well in advance I know it’s a different kettle of fish shooting at targets but I have learnt quite a lot and still learning, what I have learnt has helped me in the field tremendously And made me a lot more confident been able to practice is the key, surely the wind can’t be 25 mile an hour all the time?
  13. Hi in a 25 mile an hour 90° wind at 63 yards it would push your bullet off course by about 2.8 mil The only real way to find out this is to get out and shoot in the wind
  14. I hadn’t come across this press I just Googled it and it looks very similar to the RCBS
  15. I’ve just got my Silver pigeon 3 687 out of the Cabinet to check it and it has very slight rub marks at the end of the fore end the same hadn’t noticed it until I read this post, purchased about the middle of June 21. I’m interested to see how you get on and thanks for sharing regards sf1
  16. Mirage can cause problems with the point of impact especially if the Mirage is very bad it can look like the targets moving so your aim point could be different every time you shoot having said that it’s probably not the Mirage that’s affecting you as you would notice it more through your scope then with the naked eye
  17. It doesn’t keep it cool it stops the heat Mirage of the moderator when you’re looking through the scope
  18. In a nutshell yes it’s possible I have a moderator cover on my silencer for the same reason, A 1 in 10 twist would favour a lighter bullet it might be your rifle doesn’t like the 55 grain bullet you’re using try some different Bullets, another thing is your barrel free floated if not as the barrel heats up it will cause your groups to shift
  19. Thanks for the offer i’m sorted now I have bought a Forrester coax it was delivered Thursday i’ve reloaded some rounds on it and I’m very pleased, good luck with the sale of your rock chocker regards sf1
  20. Yes you’re right not at the moment, I am stocking up every time I go to the local RFD i’ll pick up a couple of boxes, I was talking to him the other day about this and he said once he sells all the lead Amo he won’t be buying anymore because he doesn’t wanna get stuck with it, i’ve tried a couple of boxes of 25 grain Hornaday ntx which are okay but not as good as the 30 grain vmax in my rifle anyway
  21. Hopefully by Now they’ll be some Bunnies about on your permission now after such a long wait,Winchester do subsonic hollow points for the WMR shoots exactly the same as the 22Lr, what a versatile little rifle i’ve considered getting rid of my 22Lr because I have the best of both worlds with the WMR but I’m going to hang on for a while yet because the Lead ban is not going to be easy on the wmr or the 22Lr I don’t think
  22. There always seems to be extra bits you need to buy to go along with these presses
  23. RCBS presses seem to be popular and probably for good reason i’ve watched some really good reviews I quite like the Forster coax but are they worth the extra dollar
