  1. Thank you everyone for the super info as all ways. I couldn’t see nothing on it with my glasses but found the kids old microscope and all was revealed. nitro proofed and two and half. I have a bag of random carts given to me look like may home loads. Typically there are lots of 3 inch and what looks like 2 3/4 which is shame as I got 100 or so
  2. Just bought an old folder and I guess the chamber size is 2 1/2 but it would be great if it was 3 as I have few cartridges. No markings on it or worn off. Would a 3 inch chamber in a 2 1/2 or would it not fit. Or can I measure it somehow
  3. Bought in March just don't use it as new £290 posted
  4. There is a focus Matone for the screen which I tried tweaking as the rabbits sat there for an age most obliging but it made no difference. The menu's are bit limited. I will upgrade firm ware for starters I guess London well that at least is promising I could see the farm track fine and make some things out but just nothing heat wise
  5. I picked on eup last week and so far its asolutly pointless. Now I now its bottom of the range etc with 6mm lense. But it can't see a pheasant day time 25 yards, Duck 10 yards and tonight it couldnt see any of the rabbits sat 30 yards away. In fact the only thing it does see is my bloody dog Now I didn't expect to ID much in the dark but I was hoping it could just tell me there was some thing there. In this video the guy can see a heat source on rabbits over 200 yards. I would be happy at a 100 . Wonder if there is some magical setting or maybe I should take the lense cap off. I know its only 350 quid but thats a lot of money and at the moment I may as well stuffed it down the drain. Any one know of any tweaks to optimise it or some thing ?
  6. Exactly and what better way to get kids busy than field sports fishing etc. Not every ones cuppa but would certainly do no harm.
  7. Not presenting a prize to a ferret owner just about sums it up. Bet if it was some 5 grand gun totting money man he would been out there like a shot. But as said they are all we have but they need to go on the attack. Fields sports is basically in a battle and if we keep losing ground in the end there will be nothing. They should also bring the lurcher man under the umbrella as we are getting a hiding to nothing due to few clowns. Too late for the scottish folks they are screwed all ready
  8. It all helps even if you don’t like greyhound racing it’s another bit of ground we need to hang onto. Because every inch we lose or mile now a days we never get it back
  9. Sorry if on here all ready https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/245373
  10. You can get mug size pods John 230ml . I think I have the same machine. But pods work out a £ plus a cuppa. But you can get some lids off amazon and then refil the pods with aldi ground coffee. The machine seems to do some thing clever cause the coffee comes out all frothy and tastes good.
  11. I see where you are coming from and the law is the law and if you are a gun owner you have to espeacially follow it too the letter as we should. But hunts are one of us same as lurcher men and shooters and anglers. When hunting act got passed all them years ago the big organizations should have fought tooth and nail to claw it back or even portions of it over the years. In stead all we seem too do is lose lose lose and they seem to regard keeping a few crumbs as win. Just wish they would go on the offensive for a change and take some thing back. This Scotland shambles will come to Wales and England just a case of when. The country has gone so soft its unbelievable
  12. Just watched field sports britain and the basc guy said even though they didnt want the law its nice they have a workable solution. These people are on a different planet so screw the thousands of legit lurcher men. These people know as much about country sports as I know about building a space station. Its a case of I am all right Jack with my fancy shooting. Sod the guy that wants to nip out with his ferrets and lurcher like his been doing for god knows how long. Just disgraceful. I been ringing all week to cancel my subscription but can never get through. If you want to join or renew yea no problem but lets make if really difficult to leave
  13. Its illegal for any dog to kill a mammal in Scotland. I did confirm with Basc Hello Terry, You are not allowed to use Lurchers (or similar) to kill rabbits any longer. You may only use up to 2 dogs to flush rabbits out from cover to then shoot them. Time of day/night doesn’t impact this. I have been travelling down south which is why the response wasn’t immediate. Hope this helps, Country Officer (Scotland)
  14. This used to be the place but sadly quiet now but some very good info of proper rabbiting people http://www.rabbiters.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl or the hunting life
  15. As a lurcher man what it really means is BASC have zero interest in us. We not all poaching vandals and like to legally go about a bit of ferreting with our lurcher which we can no longer do in Scotland. We didn't even get a mention or any consideration. I will be cancelling membership tomorrow
  16. Not read all this but these bodies need to do some thing to stop the steam roller that is constantly flattening our way of life instead of bending and just excepting crumbs
  17. As much as I would like to just give them all two fingers and ignore it all the simple fact is we are losing ground all the time and the speed in picking up. I joined basc couple years ago to at least give another number. I try and fill out any surveys that come along as I think a big issue that basc report is no body or very few ever complete them

  19. Vets are very commercial now a days which at the end of the day they are a business I guess. I want to book my pup in for her jabs and as my old vet had closed. I rang around and it was like changing doctors a right fuss. Plus when I did find one it was do you want this do you want that constantly trying to flog extras
  20. If you put in to context he might know the neighbours dog well and be attached where as he like every one else does not know the queen more than likely never met her and her passing will have zero affect on any one. That said she seemed a lovely lady and from field sports view was on our side so of course it is a shame. But she lead a long privileged life so was very lucky in a lot of ways
