  1. Agreed. Although why has he raised this now ???.
  2. Well everything has been mentioned now that's rape shooting. Its always a challenge but that's why we do it the day it goes well you forget the bad ones. It's been rubbish round here this year plenty of pigeons but no real interest there not really hungry its so mild and most of them are full of ivy berries when picked. Frustrating i know but at least you've got somewhere a lot haven't.
  3. I think you've answered your questions yourself most days it trial and error. You could try banger strings if tour farmer can get them. Also I'd forget the idea of setting up nxt to the road regardless busy or not, one phone call and you'd have a hard time explaining your action where ever it is should armed response arrive. Just keep trying.
  4. I would say there seeing you. Also your more than likely in the wrong place. I would never set up that near a road. 8 or 10 decoys and a flapper is all i ever use. Then change them as you pick them. Works for me.
  5. Yes we do around sensitive areas horses etc. They work really well if you've got your back to them very little noise behind. I spoke to steve at hushpower some time ago there ok with plastic wads. But yes I'd hold back purchasing one till we know what is or is not happening with lead and wads.
  6. Hi just read this. We use them with steel very effectively. I think you'd be better holding back for now. With lead and plastic wads going they'll be of no use.
  7. Don't worry when we (won't) get to net zero and produce nothing we can blame every other country for polluting. Then they'll stop making and growing stuff for us to cut there emissions. We're doomed.
  8. I think he's got more than those to worry about if the farmers block paris off. The French love to have a good protest.
  9. Hi. I would think it's either a jump in crime in your area or as you say recent purchases and a surrender. Treat it as a renewal visit and I'm sure you'll be fine.

    re start up

Says data sharing permissions. And you can't turn em off.
  11. Contact the office of the public guardian. They were really helpful when we had similar events.
  12. I'm sure nearly everyone has read this and a lot have contributed to this and other similar threads for some time now and it has got nowhere. Unfortunately BASC in there wisdom considered it was a no win situation from the start rightly or wrongly and now the result is out of there's and our hands. I'm sure if compulsory membership through local clubs were to be abolished BASC would possibly have had a reason to commit fully and try and fight it on behalf of members and show they wish to be "the voice of shooting" . After over 50 years with WAGBI and BASC i see no point staying next renewal.
  13. Bit late now we all know it's job done. I've said before it's a shame Basc took the path and decisions they made before asking the members although I'm sure the end result was inevitable.
  14. There everywhere those and pushy big issue folk really annoying . Can't resist it but was your slip showing ???.
  15. Hi. It's a huge task 300 acres. More important to be seen on the ground now you've got it. As has been said above but maybe drop some 6 ft garden canes a couple of hide nets in a plastic bag and clips at the furthest points then travel light with a seat, flapper, battery and a few decoys. You can move around as required then.
  16. Me too. But it may be a better idea to make some areas a private community (members access only) as some of the stuff on here doesn't do us any favours in the public domain.

I don't think well see any of the alliant range of powders for some time if at all. You could try Villavori there's some of that about but very little data available.
  19. Go on then I'll be first. No idea how she does it.
  20. think you have hit the nail on the head, the fields around here are just mud, pigeons dont like getting thier feet and feathers balled up with mud. I think also there's so much stubble and odd bean fields they couldn't get on and are still flooded or inaccessible. There will be huge acres of spring drilling come march .
  21. Plenty on rape here. Not really committed yet though put them off and they don't come back. So much rain and very few dry days doesn't help. Hopefully dry cold days coming soon.
  22. Last lot i saw months ago were £69 plus vat all gone now though. I was told portec couldn't import them from China due to a change in the explosive import rules.
  23. I've had the same issue recently mine was a break in the wire to the unit from the battery If the remote is lighting up it's working then check the wire from the battery to the unit wrapping it round the flapper when you put it away will cause it to break internally after a while.
