How about Curd tarts and thick Eccles cakes. Burning your fingers stealing them off the cooling tray. I always visited my mum every Monday evening, she would upset my brother who still lived at home (30 Yr old dole woller) because she would bake me buns or scones and have them ready on a plate with a mug of tea as soon as I rang to say I was popping round. I miss the simple things like that 😞

One of my favourite cheap meals. Was one my mum would make us all as kids.Onions and tatties. Slow cooked diced in a frying pan, sometimes we had bacon with it. Black onions taste wonderful but stinks the house out.

Never had an oatcake besides the small ones you buy in a box and devour with cheese after just promising you will only eat one at 11pm just before bed.

Yes great days indeed. Met up with friends you no longer see as they like me had to give it all up. From October until February I had at least one day a week at a meeting somewhere.

I bet that's brilliant to watch I've watched deerhounds course mountain hares, the landscape is just wonderful. I couldn't believe you could run a dog over it nevermind expecting to catch anything. I bet all those hares are shot instead of saved like we did on the fens and big fields in Yorkshire for our coursing clubs

To shoot rabbits To hunt with a dog was always rats with terriers, fox and loved hare coursing. Never had a, real good hare dog.

Good pedigree but not silly money.. Good luck with that then. Lakeland. Kc or working, either way daft money. £500 is cheap, seen a litter well bred recently £800 a pup

My dad's first daughter was murdered before I was born. I only found out a Yr before he died. He never spoke about it. It would have made headline news back in the 60s. I often wonder how my dad felt when I liked watching crime drama on TV, did it play on his mind? So I see what folks say about it shouldn't be shown as entertainment

The book Killing for company is a great read.

Graphite from China is more expensive then the last 4 yrs, its still expensive from America about 25% up on 2 yrs ago. Then we have to pass the costs on to business that are struggling as we are.
