  1. I've heard a few people report large numbers of birds in that area, just down the a47 towards thorney toll. Not seen it myself but when you hear more than 1 person say it there must be some truth in it!!! Best of luck.
  2. Nice. It's good to get there early, better to sit there for half hour or so before they start coming in. We stayed until nearer 6, it can get very busy when the light has gone and they are very comited to land then as well. The only problem is finding them!! I had 3 or 4 land outside the spinny that we couldn't find.
  3. Where abouts were you shooting? We had 21 from 2 guns in 1 spinny, 18 in another and not sure about the 3rd group.
  4. I had a problem with geese causing damage to crops a couple of years ago, I rang defra who put me on to someone else who told me if they are canada geese I can shoot them under my general licence, but if they are greylag then I need a special licence to shoot them! Which I applied for but by the time it was procesed they had moved on! (well helped by a couple of bird scarer rockets!!!)
  5. I hung some on my spring barley this year, no complaints!
  6. ******!!!! only just seen your post , and I wasn't working sunday! (for a change!!!) Hope you had a good day, sound's a blast.
  7. Hi m8 really sorry to hear about your brother. If there's any land rovers there I would be interested as I collect them. Kind regards Nick
  8. We are all wild bird's. We generally have a rule only one hen per drive for most of the season until jan when its cock's only but as I say this year to try and preserve numbers we thought it best not to shoot any.
  9. Is anyone else putting a ban on shooting hen bird's this year on there shoot's? We thought it best not to right from the off to give them half a chance of building numbers back up next near after having such a hard time of it this year. Your opinions would be appreciated.
  10. I've knocked Hare's over at 100yrd's + with my .22Lr no prob and shot rabbit's as 30yrds, agreed you get more bullet drop over the distance with the .22 but when it get's there it's still got the power to do the job, where as i don't think the .17 would have.
