  1. Nice shooting ant what's the hw running at?
  2. Good rugged centre fixing. Is it a zip-tie or a hair band?
  3. Colin, the CCI 's sound interesting but I haven't come accosts them. Have you tried Remington C Bee hollow points. 33 grain 40 ft lbs? I found these to work well but the batch I tested over the chronograph came out at 56 ft lbs.
  4. A bit of gunge in there can cause problems as well. Just a quick strip and clean required. Two minute job. I found it happened due to leaving the moderator on after using reduced loads. All the unburned powder residue drops down the barrel and if you've left the bolt in, that's where you get ingress of gunge. It can also effect the firing pin as it gets through the hole in the bolt face. Very simple to strip and clean the whole unit though.
  5. Nice shot who makes defiant pellets? Are they cheap
  6. Can't see why it wouldn't work so long as you leave the required clearance . Probably best done on a centre lathe though.
  7. That's because the do gooders don't know anything about wildlife conservation. They don't understand what vermin means
  8. Put the empty box on eBay. I've sold some. Then use the carts. Jobs a good un.
  9. If its a 1957 rediffusion bakelite in the bowl screen style like mine, I don't think those wall brackets will fit. It's a shame really because the set would warm up quicker if it was over the fire.
  10. In my anshutz 1417 eley subs are just very slightly more accurate than Winchester x but also slightly quieter. Not much in it. CCI subs pack more clout but accuracy opens up slightly , but not enough to be a problem. They are on the limit of staying subsonic though. A very slight crack to them. I have to say though, this gun loves CCI velocitors .
  11. went for a quick walk round, got these plus another rat but you wouldn't want to see what was left of that one.
  12. sat up in the oak tree shooting platform last year, waiting for corvids, thought i'd take a picture. just cleared my phone so i thought i'd post a few pics.
  13. My favourite job would be tasting lobsters. Because I love tasting lobsters, and if I could get paid for it, that would be great
  14. Summer's cancelled, don't ya know there's a drought on?
  15. Some bullets are slightly tighter in the chamber because of their design and shape. I don't think that different specific diameter sizes are available as such. You need to see what suits your gun. CCI 's seem a bit tighter to me but I think it's just the shape. I wouldn't worry about increased bore size due to wear in a .22 lr. I don't think you could run up any measurable wear in a lifetime. Especially in a product of anshutz quality.
  16. Crikey, let me know if it wears out before you do
  17. I shot one the other week with my old Webley senior .22 at about six yards range. I think you should look at something with a shoulder stock. Pistols aren't easy to shoot accurately and you can easily wound rather than kill them.
  18. I see them just about every week. Plenty round my way.
