  1. With accurate shooting it certainly answers the question"is a .22 rimfire capable of shooting and killing foxes".
  2. .17hmr has more range but I use .22 lr more than .17 hmr. It's cheaper to run, quieter, more versatile but the hmr is better for 80 yards plus. If most of your shooting is over 100 yards then hmr is better, if not then I'd stick with the .22 lr.
  3. Can't see what an fac air rifle can do that a .22lr can't.
  4. H&n or rws probably good in hw's. That's what I'd try first.

    Air Rifle

It's the sort of gun you should get free with a tin of pellets.
  6. Some unusual stuff in there ,I can tell you.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I will give it some consideration.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Definately gives me food for thought.
  9. 210/220 bar. Just thinking about getting one because they are self sufficient instead of having a divers bottle filled, so I wondered if they were worth the money as I've never used one and I don't know how good they are. Thought they should be ok for the price they are but just wanted some opinions first.
  10. Does anybody know if stirrup pumps are worth the money? Are they reliable and how long do they take to charge a buddy bottle? Thanks for any info.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of stirrup pumps for charging buddy bottles. How long does it take to fill a 400cc bottle, how much effort is involved and are they reliable and worth the money? Any info, thanks.
  12. Big shot doesn't seem to like tight chokes very much so with bb's I would use half choke. They will be plenty for foxes at 40 yards. Good job you've got an auto. Doesn't take many 50 gram magnums to do your shoulder in next day. I know that from experience.
  13. Don't forget that the 20 grain hmr's aren't as explosive as the 17 grain ballistic tips. They penetrate more rather than break up. They will go through crows so easily. I shot some clean through a 3 inch wooden post at 140 yards. Yes it surprised me a bit but it's true. They really do penetrate more than you might think. I would recommend .22 Remington cbee hollow points. Reduced energy and good expansion make them ideal at the range you mention. I have used them to good effect. If you try these, make sure they are the long rifle hollow points and not the shorter solid longs. The cb longs and equivalent aren't very accurate much past 30 yards I find.
  14. That's a good days sport, no wonder you enjoyed that one.
  15. I had no problems with mine. It was a 20 bore. Now replaced with a teknys which I prefer but then it was more expensive. If its the right price I'd say buy it.
  16. My 2.7tdi does about 30 mpg on average but it's automatic. On the road it drops into overdrive pretty quick if your light on the throttle. Cruises steady at 1000 rpm on level ground. I think that's where it makes it's best economy. Cams are gear driven so not much to worry about there. I've been happy with mine. 112,000 on the clock now and everything still works ok.
