  1. IF the PELI is the 1720 I'll take it
  2. I have about 3 different Nobel manuals, so happy to post photos or scans of the relevant pages if that helps? (Once the new owner states what caliber and bullet they want to use the powder for)
  3. PM me collection info Knaresborough mate can collect for me prior to the shoot this weekend
  4. swmbo bought a sat nav 2nd-hand that came with a plug in gizmo Fits the normal car 12-v socket. Only paid it some attention once she started using it. Has a blue lcd display which shows output voltage from engine, plus it also has a couple of USB outlets Tried it with a dead phone - had it fully charged in next to no time...and unlike similar units I've tried, it stays IN the socket Keep meaning to check the make/model and get one myself
  5. Liverpool was where we had a detour recently - parked up at one of the McD near the footie stadiums, seemed to be several flocks of the things zooming around

    Strap on

Our trick as small cadets was to insert the folded beret inside the woolly pully to help absorb some of the kick I was of a size that not only was it difficult to keep the No.4 on target, I'd be bounced rearward somewhat by the recoil Every few shots they'd drag me back to the firing line
  7. Interested Will check to see if my mate near Knaresborough could collect for me - or I could maybe detour after the next Catterick shoot on the 5th
  8. I was educated in the way of things bell target by that nice Mr Spittle, when I used to visit his shop in Wolves back in my Uni days... Still got the signed book on the history of the sport. No leagues near me - but there are a few chaps in the local gun club who collect the targets, pellet dispenser machines, etc.
  9. YIP... My area is like that - and given that we only moved here three years ago, I very much doubt that three years from now will see us still living here - UNLESS the local feral two-legged rats are taken to task = but from speaking to longer term neighbours, the opposite seems to be the case LOTS of new pre-teens in the area are following the monkey see monkey do example - as their slightly older school age role models (in random scum behaviour) ARE getting away with whatever antics they choose to amuse themselves with...! I'd not be too surprised if a lack of official results starts to see some local intervention type correction dished out as the locals here can be quite good at non-verbal communication
  10. You are welcome to get a couple of lessons from me on how to do it - on some of my dies/presses - so your only outlay will be to buy primers/bullets/powder If you don't have used .223 cases already I can donate a few to get you started I'll be doing some 20-bore ammo soon too Got a lot of the components, but not started on it as not been out to use the new 20-bore yet
  11. Any thoughts on my offer?
  12. yes yes ....it's not a difficult concept.
  13. 🤪 A sound moderator ONLY takes the condition of the gun it is to be fitted on: IF going onto an FAC gun, the mod needs to be listed as an FAC itemised unit IF going onto a sub 12ft/lb airgun, no paperwork required That is THE LAW - and DOES APPLY to the same make/model No real confusion with this - some of the sound mods I own even have stickers on the box that confirm the above Sales literature likewise confirmed it
  14. Possibly not originals = Norinco in China made a few Win 1897 copies a while back - both a 30" and a 20" Saw some of the latter in the UK, with extra tubing added to the barrel to comply with the UK min. barrel length rule One of my older reference books does show some contemporary pre-war modifications to the '97 guns, carried out by the gangster gunsmiths who supplied the criminal gangs in the US in the 20's & 30's....the main tweak seemed to be adding extra length to the magazine tube. Yes. These guns were last made in the late 50's, but they were made in HUGE numbers. Parts are out there....and they ARE being used in good numbers for cowboy action events in the US & elsewhere - so a new group of specialist fixers/restorers are now to be found online I could likely name a few guns made in the last 30 years that have a poor parts availability issue too If you want one, they are out there and they are good fun. One thing to check, they were not all made for the 2 3/4" cartridge, so check the actual chamber length - even the proof marks may be wrong here
  15. None of the military spec. would be UK legal, aside from the version used to train aircrews in gunnery practice. Never seen any '97 that had been tarted up - as not really a lot you can do to one - next to no aftermarket accessories out there for the '97; the only thing I got for mine was the modified follower & spring which allows an extra cartridge in the magazine Very nice guns - had mine since the mid-90's - and mine is dated to 1898; the 30" take-down model. I also have a couple of different US Army manuals for it, plus WW1 period correct ammo bags, etc. Been working on feeding it reloads made with the brass CBC cases. Good fun guns....I also have a Win 12 to go with it & an Ithaca 37. All good Browning designs...!
  16. saddler

    airgun ID

I have, and in Dudley too - he never struck me as the sort of chap that ever went in a shower, likely caught outside by a few in the typical Black Country summertime.
  17. One thought that bamboo was of the GRASS family?? Got a longbow that is part bamboo, and very nice it is too...!
  18. Whichever it should be - posting your phone no in an open forum is not a good move
  19. Get some KoChoLine on the leather, not forgetting the internal straps Looks like you are missing one of the long external straps? Easy enough to do - the one on the left that is still there looks to be newer hide than the handle, etc. I'd do as little as possible to it & definitely NOT start changing baize or labels
  20. PM me the prices for these please. Ta
  21. I have a few period airgun scopes, the Made in Japan types.... Will have a look tomorrow and post a follow up
  22. Hi Neil From the site info, you are about 15 miles from me PM me your contact info. More than happy to help you get started in reloading for the .223 I have spare .223 brass you can have for nothing. Only once fired, not worn out, etc. Also, happy to call over and show you the normal process of loading decent quality .223 ammo IF you have fired cases from your Tikka then they can be used to get you started as well Got a couple of things on in the next few days but should be free from Monday daytimes onwards
  23. Guessing you tried Chambers for spares and had a heart attack at some of the prices?
  24. swmbo just bought a new SatNav for herself - it's a Garmin - and it has a built in dash cam feature with quite good resolution. It also has lane change warning buzzers, collision warning buzzers, traffic moving away buzzers. etc...! Seems a lot easier to use and it WORKS unlike the cheap RAC dashcam she had previously
