  1. just to add my input. i joined the forum in march 2012, so i guess i am a newbie. i find the forum useful and find folk here to be helpful and the banter pretty good. for sure there are people who know better and have bigger guns etc but surely thats just life and you find this wherever you are in the world. the forum is expanding and with the amount of members there's always gunna be people who shoot the newbies down. like i said that's life just take it on the chin,if it gets too personal the mods will stop it. i think newbies just need to think carefully before posting as there's a lot of people viewing
  2. steady few guinness to line my gut for the coming weekend
  3. nice bag there tony , well done mate. might well be on the corvids tommorow myself as the pea field fields that i've got also have no pigeons on some other land has been silageing this week and the blackies are there. after seeing your pics i think i will have a go
  4. a less experienced rider would have been off
  5. nice bag lovely wood on the gun
  6. yes i noticed a big diffrence mate, the d2 is deffo more comfortable, due to the active corner enhancement, which i suppose is something else to go wrong  but the power and torque of the td5 engine is brilliant i pull a caravan and in the past have pulled trailers with no effort. mine has a manual gearbox, i would recomend an ecu remap for fuel economy and a tad more power. the td5 has no cambelt[chain] and loves to be tuned
  7. hello mate, i have ran a 300tdi d1 and i am currently running a td5 d2 03plate. got to say i love my d2. i have no experiance of the d3 but my mate who ran a d2 has now got one and has had no problems. i have heard of nightmare electrical problems with the d3. i can say that i have had my d2 for three years now and its a good bus i would buy another td5 d2 tommorow. hope this helps. aga man ps. 7-8 k would buy a lovely d2
  8. yes mate waterpump i reckon. my mate has the same vehicle and was making the same noise. spraying the belt stopped the noise breifly but then it would start again. i said it was probably the belt or the tensioner. a week later the waterpump failed cauing the belt to come off and he lost power steering etc. the water pump wasn't big money and was easy enough to change once we found some 30mm spanners to take the fan off!
  9. no probs mate, i know a few people who have had trouble with the black clear pigeons, even though they are 7o mm case the primers just dent lightly an don't go off! dissapointing really as gamebore are generally good shells. some of the eley game loads are worth a look i had some green case eley vip that wern't bad i think they were no5 32gm.
  10. hello hedd, if it had to be 34gm carts i would go for hull cartridge sterling game, very nice shell. not cheap at approx £75 for 250 but designed for very high pheasants. think there 70mm aswell which is good for the auto. have to ask though mate why such a heavy load and why felt wad? perhaps the layout of your permission demands it but i would have thought any decent 32gm no6 would do the job or even the new hull super fasts in 29gm no6 at £45 for 250 imo they will do for pigeons crows and most vermin. out of intrest where the clear pigeons the new black ones?
  11. yep, i agree with cos there. a car has an alternater that charges the battery and is driven by the auxillary belt, the faster it spins the more charge it kicks out.
  12. hi mate, jump leads will start the car and driving it round will put some charge back into it. giving the battery a full re charge is the best way though usualy a trickle charge overnight. make sure you have your radio code before removing the battery as you probably need to re-enter it when it is back on.
  13. hi mate, not sure about the lights coming on but sometimes when the injectot looms fails oil can end up in the ecu apparently and i would imagine this could cause electrical faults/symptoms atb aga man.
  14. good point you make there fella. the birds go to the dealer as you say fully feathered etc. don't really know what happens to them from there on
  15. lol that makes sense. we don't have cockerels either so i guess she is gagging for it
  16. nice one mate, does she [the ginger hen}, squat to receive a stroke when you put your hand near her. mine does lovely creatures realy
  17. i agree, goes back to my earlier post, pigeons and rabbits will take advantage of short rape. for sure pheasants will have a go at it , but the pigeons and rabbits will really take the ****.
  18. have been using red filter for a while now and it seems ok. however they get the message whatever colour you use white light is probably best with some kind of dimming it down.
