  1. £45 at my surgery and took around 3 weeks. The letter from South Wales Firearms Dpt. said the pro-forma MUST be completed in order to process the renewal. On reading this thread it seems different authorities sing from different song sheets.
  2. Don’t bother with 3rd party warranty’s, just been done for £800 myself. It was supposed to be the mutts nuts however I’ve attempted to make 2 claims so far and both times I’ve been rebuffed. In the small print they only pay a max of £1000 and no more than around £47 ph labour chargen
  3. I tried an Aguri Skyway and it’s a load of rubbish, detects electric roller shutters but not camera vans🤷‍♂️
  4. Owned a Freelander2 for 2 months back last May/June. It was a nice place to be, HSE so had all the toys too but in those 2 months the dealer had it more than I did, rear diff, haldex pump and then front PTU, but by the time I’d driven it home it had started making a new noise, dealer just said to bring it back and he’d give me my money and old car back. It was immaculate and had only done 62k miles. Maybe it was a bad one but I was too scared to buy another so I’ve just bought a Q5.
  5. Had a Robin Hood once which is basically a replica Lotus 7, immense fun, you’ll always be smiling. Mine had no radio however the 4 into 1 exhaust was all the music you needed, it was freezing in the winter all except for my legs which cooked as they were basically in the engine bay and I was forever tinkering as the original builder wasn’t the best and one day the offside front wheel literally fell off, luckily at only about 5mph, half hour before I was doing 70 so it must have been my lucky day. If I had the cash I’d buy a Caterham at the drop of a hat, flawed but fun, as a Landrover owner your probably used to that anyway, I’ve been there too.
  6. Great people to deal with, recently bought a shell pouch from them at a fantastic discount, transaction was smooth and it arrived quickly. Julian is often found at a clay shoot on a Sunday and is a really nice guy to chat with.
  7. One of my heroes, will have to give this a watch.
  8. I find it amazing that people are allowed to flock to the supermarkets, DIY shops and garden centres in droves where social distancing has long become a thing of the past however we are advised not to travel out of our ‘local area’ so we can indulge in our chosen leisure activity in a wide open space. Also what was the point of allowing non essential shops to open whilst telling people not to travel more than 5 miles?, shops are open but very few would be able to get to them if they stick to the advice. Some operatives lucky enough to still be in work with our company have been sent to Bristol, Weston -super -mare and Reading amongst other places but come the weekend should ‘stay local’, can they not get infected through the week? Does C19 recognise they are working and leave them alone whilst laying in wait for the weekend?. I wouldn’t mind sanctions that made some sort of sense.
  9. Picked up another £50 this month. Minimum investment is £25 according to the website.
  10. There was between 4-5k in there at the time, there’s a bit more in there now. As someone else mentioned you don’t have to check the individual numbers, you just get an email when you win or you can check Yourself using your membership number or phone app.
  11. Had about £100/125 in the last 12 months or so, much better than I’d get in interest.
  12. So far every time something has been asked of him he’s taken an extended holiday, become ill (if you believe he actually had C-19 you must think the moon is cheese!) and now just after his miraculous recovery his latest squeeze has popped out a sprog so it’s paternity leave!. Any normal employee with this appalling track record would have quite rightly been sacked by now.
  13. We need a ‘like’ button!!!
  14. Can’t work out the travel for work bit. Is it correct that it’s essential that I travel for work as I can’t work from home? (building maintenance) which one part of the GOV website states or is it, the work I’m travelling to undertake must be essential? as a separate page suggests.
  15. Mrs has a 63’ plate swift running on supermarket fuel that returns about 47mpg however she does spend a lot of time in the early morning/evening bumper to bumper Traffic. Lovely to drive and good spec but serious lack of omph. My old Saab 93 1.9 Tid returns about 52- 53 mpg on BP ultimate which is 6/7 mpg more than It did on Sainsbury’s fuel, feels a bit more sprightly too.
  16. Bloody hell!!!! How much???? 100 at South Wales 2000 is £30!
  17. I find pedestrianisation of town centres has also become a big factor. I work in property maintenance and deal with quite a few retailers, all of which report a loss of footfall due to this. You can’t just ‘pop’ into town and pick something up anymore. Now you have to pay to park in a car park 1/2 a mile away and then walk in, most likely in the **** pouring rain to boot. On the other hand you can find whatever you want, get next day delivery and probably save a few quid without even leaving the house. And they wonder why most high streets are full of charity shops and travel agents. The mind boggles eh?!.
  18. From what stands are the clays hitting the cars? Only ask as I shot it on the Wednesday and thinking back I can’t see where this would have happened. Unfortunately that is Steve’s standard reply, happens at Westfield all the time, used to happen at Weston wood too, clays and shot rain down on people’s expensive motors and he couldn’t give a toss. Not a nice fella, it’s all about the money for him, I tend to try and avoid his shoots and know a few others that have started to do the same.
  19. They have also been Installing them here in South and West Wales, I have been lead to believe that they are a sort of ‘Live’ speed camera, as in the info is transferred digitally as opposed to needing a camera inside the box as per the GATSO. Will probably be able to rake in a few more million a year, especially if they are somehow camouflaging them though I must say the ones they’ve replaced here are still being painted bright yellow. Didn’t the law changed a few years ago regarding them being visible?. I think, though I may be wrong, they can once again hide behind corners/around bends and use unmarked vans as they once did if they want to.
  20. I’d snap your hands off if I were closer, awesome cartridge. I’d wish you good luck with the sale but you won’t need it!

    Worst Gigs..

If the blurb is to be believed there’s only one exclusive European gig this year to celebrate their 40th anniversary, London Hyde Park 7th of July. So, so tempted.

    Worst Gigs..

Saw the Pogues in 2005, An unheard of (for me) Dropkick Murphys opened for them, apart from being Irish that’s where the similarities ended, totally different music wise. They started up and everybody just sort of looked at each other and headed for the bar. They seem to have quite a following now but were terrible then. The Pogues however were brilliant, except Shane, he was by far the drunkest man for miles around, he did get better as the night wore on though, maybe he was sobering up!. Saw Billy Bragg at around the same time, had some local poet type on before him, guy stood there and droned some ramblings protesting about a new flyover they had just built in Blackwood, again everybody went back to the bar. Been to loads of fantastic gigs though. Saw Tom Petty in Hyde Park last year and going to see Roger Waters this year, might even sneak The Cure in too and maybe Clapton, missus may not be too impressed with the “romantic” weekend in London though lol.
