  1. Hi all. I'm looking for shooting permission in Devon/ east Cornwall for myself and a friend. We both use PCP air rifles and would for permission to shoot vermin, not game. If any other info is needed please send me a message.
  2. Hello folks, Right, the situation is this. There are a whole bunch of Canadian geese on a permission I have. They're all landing on a field that is now stubble. My question is, is this enough to be covered by the General Licence, and, if so, what kinda of equipment should I use? I'll be going with a mate who has a shotgun and a spare for me to use. Since he's a certificate holder, I believe I can use a shotgun whilst being supervised. Even though he happens to be younger than me... So, can I shoot them, and, if so, what cartridges should I use and whats the best plan of attack?
  3. Any idea what size the o seals are? Every o seal, that is!
  4. Right, my mates Air Arms S400 has a problem. It won't hold pressure. You can charge it up but leave it over night and it'll have no pressure left by the morning. Any ideas whats causing this? It hasn't been used in a while, so maybe its the o-seals or something? Any feedback on this would be great!

    LEAD PELLETS

Can I just point out Logun Penetrators are made from lead. I've been using them for the past couple years I guess, and I've found them very accurate with plenty of stopping power. I think the .177 weighs 9.5 grains, which seems to be plenty. At 35 yards I can get one hole groups from resting on a bench, and about the size of a 20 pence from standing. I've shot rabbits, squirrels, pigeon, rooks, crows etc with these pellets and they've been brilliant. I used to use Bisley Magnums, but decided one day to try out penetrators and haven't looked back. They were nine quid for 450 when I first started using them, now they're thirteen, which is quite annoying. But yeah, I've been happily using logun penetrators for some time now, and can't fault them. And they're made of lead, not tin!
  6. Thats what I thought. SKAN R32 or something?
  7. Well, I've put my shoulder out and am off work until next friday, and I have no real excuse to be up at this hour!

    Motorcycles

Sym DD50 - Blew up haha. Rieju SMX 125 - Attacked by a Mitsubushi L200. Lost. Though has been repaired and works fine, but I lost the keys on tuesday! Suzuki DR 125 - Met its untimely demise after some dozey woman pulled out infront of me. Two weeks after I bought it! Kawasaki KMX 125 - Blew up. Yamaha FZR 400 - Still working, at present.
  9. I used AA fields for a while in .177, and used to get runners. I thought I was low on air or something. I switched to Logun Penetrators, and not much gets away now!

    Idiot Alert!

£200 for a gun thats good for hunting? I didn't realise that inflation had caused such a rocket in price. A mate of mine bought a BSA supersport with a scope, brand new for £140. Or try the for sale part of the forums. Usually theres plenty kicking round.
  11. I'm making one at the moment from an old spanner handle! I'll post it up here when I'm done.

    HW77 Wanted

Putting this up for a mate of mine, who's after a HW77. He said he'd spend a max of £300, preferably scoped. He's also based in Plymouth but would travel some distance. Not quite sure what kind of measurement that is. Any ideas how many miles are in a "some?" Anyway, post what you have here, preferably with a picture. If not, email it to me, and I'll get back to you with what he says.
  13. I've shot a squirrel a while back using logun penertators out of an AA S200. Shot it in the chest and it ran for a bit then dropped like a stone. Being an inquisetive fellow, I decided to cut it open and see what the pellet did. It was a through and through shot that went through both lungs and its heart! Tough little ******* squirrels!
  14. Anybody fancy taking me out today? I shoot with my mate at his mums place, but nobodys home so I can't go!
  15. I'd recommend an S200. Light, quiet and they've finally realised the two piece stock is rubbish and given it a nice one piece stock, plus you have the option of either single shot or multi shot, and with spare mags costing around £13, you can buy three spares for the price of one spare for most other rifles. In .177 you get about forty shots per charge, but I've found that to be plenty, and I can't carry forty rabbits anyway! I have a pump and a bottle, and to be honest, I always use the pump. You don't ever need to get it tested or re-filled, so air is always available provdied you're not in space. They cost about the same as a bottle, so are cheaper in the long run.
  16. Ah, you going for an apprenticeship eh?
  17. I'm in Plymouth, and shoot on farm near tideford. Rabbits/ pigeon/ squirels, general vermin really!
  18. I use penetrators in ,177, and find them very good. Though I was advised not to use them in .22 unless it was in an FAC rifle, because they're real heavy.
  19. I've used a sheridan EB 20 for rats. When you're real close, and the only other option is a scoped S200, the pistol is brilliant. However, I have now outfitted my supersport with a red dot and torch. I don't miss much now!
  20. As part of my apprenticeship we had to sharpen chisels and such. The way we were shown was to heat until red then leave it to cool slowly, then once it was cooled sharpen it. Once we'd sharpend it, we were told to heat until cherry red then quench in oil to temper the blade. A few years back a mate of mine made a file into a knife. I'll get hold of him and find out what he did.
  21. I didn't think about the whole re-crowning thing. Ah well, it'd look kinda cool really long. Kinda like a brown bess lol. If putting in a ram as a simple as say, changing a spring?
  22. Get a rat tail file and file back the bit where the pellets are clipping it.
  23. I had an ingenious plan today, which was tp purchase a gas ram for my .22 Supersport. Obviously I'd make sure that I got the .22 ram, but I was wondering if anybody had fitted one before. Is this gonna be a simple D.I.Y job or should I leave this one to the professionals? Also, I've got half a mind to cut a few inches off the barrel so I could fit a silencer on it after fitting the gas ram, so it wouldn't be 400ft long. Are there any laws against shortening the barrel of an air rifle? I know I'd loose the blueing at the end of the barrel, but I'm sure that could be rectified fairly cheaply. So, if anybody can give me any info on these issues, it would be rather appreciated!
  24. No more photos for me like this one then.....

    moped law?

You can ride a quad on a full motorcycle licence aswell, and I agree, mug if you wear no lid. Mark, first jacket I got was a Spada somethingorother. I bought the matching leggings later on and have had it for four years and its not leaked once. I've come off while wearing it and my shoulders/ elbows/ knees have been fine every time. I broke the protective pads, but they're about five quid for a replacement. Check them out, they're not too expensive either.
