  1. i see the yanks got caught out ,they were going over to see old German solders and trying to buy there iron crosses from them ,and one old German solider was a machinist and still had his old tools ,he and a few of his m8s stated to make iron crosses and sold them to the yanks ,they didn t realize ,as when a expert looked at them ,he said there the real thing ,there made with the right tools lol

  2. WD40 cannot ever cause your gun to rust.

Unless someone can demonstrate chemically how this is supposed to occur can we put this to bed forever.

    Richard

rich ,i seen it with my own eyes ,after about 200 rounds of 2WW surplus ammo i was told to spray WD40 down the barrel ,and then clean with bronze brush and then 4x2 with pull through i looked down the bore after a day or two and it was well lets say i could not see my rifling

good night its now put to bed

  3. I find it very worrying that people who claim to be experienced rifle shots are advocating firing it again - maybe they would be wise in doing a safety course!

You should under no circumstances fire a mis-fire again, you have a now weakened primer - if the firing pin were to pierce the primer when re-fired - there is a large risk associated with the gasses from the cartridge now coming backwards out of the chamber as opposed to forwards - this has the potential for serious injury and or damage.

Anyone seen attempting to re-fire a rifle round -ESPECIALLY a .22lr on the range whilst I am RCO would be required to leave the range and our club would hold a dim view of it.

spot on you beat me to it
  4. like i said just an idea

get a 3' broom handle and on the top arrange a battery powered PIR and on top of the PIR have a small red LED light

bate under the PIR and tie it to pole ,when the fox comes into range of the PIR you will see the small LED light come one

this will give you time to lamp and shoot ,you could make this a portable unit so can be moved around your shooting land ,

you could wire up a small red light under the PIR so is gives you enough light to see the fox in your scope ?????

  5. One should alway look into the cases with a light and make sure of the fill by eye, even weighing each charge its easy to miss one- the primer alone will get a bullet up the rifling with disatrous results if a subsequent round is fired ontop

very good point ,yep make sure you eye it up before you pop a head in ,or you could get a squib round

  6. we have the same ,we got add blocker ,it stops the adds but we still get a white box come up ,my lad is in his 2nd year in computer progaming and software and he said its google ???? i get it as soon as i go on PW ,you get use to it after a while ,just delete them and dont click on them as the add company makes money on them as soon as you look at them

  7. after training my dog for 6 months ,we went on holiday and had to put are dog in the pound for a week ,on the second day the owner rang me and said your dog is not eating and that she was worried and wanted to ring me before she rang the vet ,my dog would just sit in-front of the dog food and not move ,it then came to me that part of her training was that i would put down her food or a treat and she would not touch it until i give the command ,click my fingers and point at the food and say OK lol ,

sounds like one man and is best friend :shifty:

  8. why the hell not!?

if anything the .22lr is more dangerous in the wrong hands

40gr doing 1050fps solid lead will zing off anything

a 75gr Vmax doing 3000fps+ will shatter on a twig!

rifle shooting is rifle shooting, no rifle is more dangerous than the next one, that is what makes ground clearance by FLO a mockery

put in for as much as possible the first time round.

you are a gamekeeping student with permission already

    .22/.HMR vermin and ground game

.222/22-250/.243 for fox (and deer depending on where you are/what you have)

get all your facts in order, prepare your case and walk the FLO through your request

if you demonstrate that he is not going to get a hard time from his Firearms manager when he slaps your processed request on the desk then there is no reason why you wont get what you want.

get a mentor/mate with an FAC, demonstrate safe use and common sense, any experience you can show will help your case

    good luck

.22 range 1.5km 243 range 4000m @36 dr angle do some maths ,he is better starting off with a .22 unless he can get some range use in first ,ive seen it so many times ,new lads turning up on the range and not knowing what the rifle can do ,and ive seen Vmax and a lot more different rounds bounce off the ground ,and needs to now about back stops

    and yes good luck ,

  9. look at there poo ,if its hard and light in color its old ,if you see dark brown / black poo and you squeeze it and its soft and green inside this is fresh poo ,and like Dekers said foot prints in the mud ,i love it when we get the first cover of snow ,i then go out and see were all the warrens are and where they have been ,this will tell you what warrens are live ,and damage to the base of trees bark missing
