With the scope on x9, I'd look to get a clear image at about 25yds. This can be achieved by re-parallaxing the front optic lense. You will need to loosen the front bell cover of the scope then you will see inside it is the lense carrier. This is a tubular threaded component and normally has two small slots in the front. Wind the carrier out in quarter turns then look through the scope and look for clarity on target at 25yds. Once achieved, tighten the front bell cover. For ranges below 25yds, reduce the magnification and it should become clear. The scope is probably a generic Chinese unbranded scope that seem to be supplied for package deals. Once the scope is set, you should then be able to fine tune with the rear adjustment. If you try to correct out of focus with just the rear adjustment, you will put the reticle out of focus, so it's important that that you use the rear adjustment first to get the reticle clear before you play with the front bell housing cover. By the way, on lower magnification, it's not unusual to see the front of the barrel.

I had the LGV Master Pro. Best shooting rifle out of the box, I've had. A bit weighty, but well balanced. Mine was .177" cal and from memory, it wasn't pellet fussy, performing equally well on most popular premier brands (H&N / JSB)

It's a common problem with the FWB Sports. The piston seal material decays and crumbles to cheese like consistency. It will need a strip down and the piston debris will need to be thoroughly cleaned from the cylinder and piston and a new seal fitted. Seals are still available from spares stockists such as Chambers or John Knibbs. The Sports do require a bit of care to disassemble without losing parts and potentially injuring yourself into the bargain, so as suggested previously, if you're not comfortable stripping down air rifles, leave it to someone else.

I've a 1966 HW35 I renovated and have on open sights. It's a nice mid-weight springer capable of legal limit power levels. It depends on what you want really, the HW99 is a nice lightweight and the HW77 is quite a beast to lug around by comparison. I'd not bother with the HW30 as it's best efforts will only give you about 8ft/lbs (can you stalk to sub 20yds on a rabbit?). You won't go wrong with any of the above. I just wish I had the eyesight I had in my younger days as the best I do now is 6 yds bell target.

The piston seal will need replacing. They are notorious for going to pieces in the cylinder.

I did some work on a hatsan trigger. I added a longer m3 adjuster trigger. If I remember it was about 9mm long, though great each trigger individually. It helps with trigger release but not first stage travel.

If you've already got it, it's worth a try (for £66). The synsg is a clone of the Diana 34, but you may find the finishing of parts inferior. Barrels can be a bit hit and miss (excuse the pun). I have an xs20 (a HW95 clone) and whilst it was a good rifle to shoot (I bought it pre-tuned from Lyn Lewington the V Mach technician), the barrel let it down on accuracy past 20yds. Being a clone, I purchased a .177 HW95 barrel and quite frankly you will struggle to differentiate firing cycle from my SFS tuned HW95 (also in .177). I also have an smk xs19 in the cabinet and with a welsh will tuning it's shoots very nicely (but needed a trigger upgrade from new, the Gamo 440 and it's clones are pretty notorious for this). I've consistently hit a 40mmx40mm knockdown with the '19 at 75yds at a spring air rifle 'bash', so not all barrels are bad - just some. Hope you have some success with it. If not, Edgar Bros are now Diana agents and you will get some keen pricing on a the full range, but if it's FAC you want, the mod 52 (now that will do 24fpe+) might be the answer.

The original piston seal degrades with age and basically crumbles in the cylinder, hence no pressure. John Knibbs did the replacement for approx £15 +P&P. Breech seals are O rings, so are small money. If it is an original spring fitted, you will find probably the most preload on any sub12fpe springer, so a spring compressor is a must. It's relatively straight forward to strip down, but be careful when re-assembling as if you cross thread the bolt that holds the back block in place, you're in trouble (especially as the back block is alloy). They're smashing air rifles, I hope you get it back up and running and enjoy it.

Not in any way, shape or form. You will find the closest rifle to the Hatsan is a Webley Stingray (I think).

I've seen 7 in the air at the same time around by me. On one of my perm's I've even walked into a barn and disturbed one roosting in there. They are becoming very common, but nice birds to see, unless you're hunting for the same thing they are.

Until you get a bottle, you can disconnect the cylinder from the rifle and get it filled at your local shop without taking the whole rifle. Mine used to do it for £2.

Check out the woodfield GCP website. You can geta Titan replacement spring and he lists which spring for which rifle (you may have to trim it off a bit though to avoid going over power)
