  1. Hi Dave I'd be interested please, I'm in Tenterden so not far for me to come! cheers Adam
  2. Hello Everyone, I've rejoined the forum after a few years absence and am ready to return to the world of pigeon shooting, I have moved a few times over the last few years and my previous permissions are now too far away to keep and became fairly baron in terms of pests.... now looking for permissions in the Ashford/Tenterden/Biddenden area - also happy to come along to other permissions if a shooting buddy is required. also happy to pay for a good day or two on the pigeons in Kent. any help / recommended contacts etc much appreciated. Adam
  3. They are definately there, my normal procedure is: turn up spend an hour or so observing flight lines and any feeding areas, pick a spot near these, put pattern out, wait. Normally i move on to another position if nothing happens within half hour I never seem to manage to find the sweet spot! Normally they all start flying around and landing where ive just been! Dont have aproblem hitting them, generally anything that does come in is dead (apart from when i shoot like an idiot! Haha)
  4. Dear all, Ive been shooting for many years now and have never managed a bag bigger than 20 or so, this season i havent even bagged double figures! And have even drawn several blanks.... I feel like im setting patterns correctly etc. the only thing i lack is the ability to do some reconnisance, i simply dont have the time to get down to my perms as they are a significant distance from home and work. Are there any tips people can give or even a shared day out either on my perms or yours? I just feel like i need a sanity check on what im doing. P.S. Im in kent nr canterbury Regards Adam
  5. HAHA! Indeed the title is a bit of a give away! for those who missed it, I'm in Kent, Nr Canterbury
  6. Hello all, Im desperate for a day on the pigeons, the farms I normally shoot don't have any rape and hence no pigeons! I'd be very very appreciative if someone is going out tomorrow 14th Feb (short notice i know…….) if not tomorrow then any weekend over the next few weeks I'm happy to return the favour once my farmer plants she pee in march! Thanks Adam
  7. Haha!! Supprisngly we've managed to make fox curry taste pretty good! Lots of experimentation though Its not unpalletable
  8. Hello Everyone, Ive been on and off the forum for a while now and you've all given great help and advice when i needed it. Those of you that don't already know, i run a catering company (no this isnt a plug for the business lol ) We've been asked by a client to provide a 'wierd tasting menu' so naturally we've come up with fox curry, crow pie and squirrel confit. Trouble is, im struggling to get enough of the above! If any of you out there have or are intending to shoot the above and need a disposal route, please contact me! PM me for my mobile. I dont need loads just let me know what you have and i'll swap for beer or money if prefered Cheers all Adam
  9. Thanks for your replies, i'll be sure to be there early!
  10. I have been asked by a farmer to have a go at controlling some crows on his ground. Ive never really had a proper go at crows before, there is about 200 that sit on a drilled wheat field (60 acres!) but they sit right in the middle! How do i get them into decoys? Also they dont roost anywhere near and are only there at 7am and 3pm Can anyone give some help? Cheers Adam
  11. Im near Canterbury, Kent Yup using Lee Dies, ive only been messing around with it for a couple of days, your right i need to het everything set up correctly....somehow! I can already see it becoming an obsession
  12. Dear all, As the title suggests....i am very new to reloading having used 100gr PPU soft point rounds for deer stalking. Theyve proven to be fairly accurate but not perfect, i have accumulated a lot of fire formed PPU brass so ive decided to jump on the reloading band wagon having bought a Lee challenger reloading kit with sierra 100g SP, N-150 powder and federal primers. I made 8 rounds using minimum recommended powder weights for N-150 and instantly had a sub one inch groupings at 100yds, great! But.....im concerned that N-150 maybe to fast a burning powder (only because ive heard that i should be using a slow powder for a heavy bullet) , and that the crimp created when seating the bullet isnt enough (i can push the bullet back into the case using some force, whereas factory ammo wont budge!) Im happy with my grouping i just want to iron out a couple of unknowns.....any advice appreciated Thanks in advance! Adam
  13. i'd like to get all the gear if possible, to reload by .243 cases Cheers Adam
