  1. I have two of the floaters ive had them a year now. They work well in wind. I don't use them all the time. Also they are very well made compared to others. Some one on this forum used to make some that others said were very good.? I don't recall who. Someone out there may know who im talking about ? I know if you mail order them because of the rod length the postage is not cheap. I got mine at the Shooting show from Chris so avoided the postage. Also he will give you tips on how best to use them. Ive had some cheap ones and they were not as good.
  2. I have a few. They are good quality decoys. Very good paint job. A little pricey compared to others. I'm pleased with mine.
  3. Another good read I can recommend is Will Garfit's book titled Will's pigeon shooting. Very good for someone coming into our sport. Filled with good advice and info. Also on youtube try fieldsport tv on weds eve. Also The shooting show on mon eve. Another thing with this site you can look at threads from a while back. As Hanser says don't be afraid to ask.
  4. Spot on. Religion was created to control people. Power over the masses. Live your lives without shackles. I've been too 38'000 ft in a jumbo and looked up. I saw nothing. Open your eyes.
  5. No they just didn't look good with my hairy legs.
  6. Well done J Dog good bag and good wright up and pics. Like Fenboy I used to have a net addiction back in the 80's. Fish Nets. Im over it now. The cure was marrage.
  7. Nothing here just north of London. I would like some so my young Cocker can have some fun in it. He's not seen it yet.
  8. I use Bio Freeze A bit different goes both hot and cold. For real muscle pain I take Diclofenac tablets. ( from your doctor ) works very well for me. I am now 50 and starting to fall apart. Creams will only do so much.
  9. Take your time in what dog you decide to get. It's a big commitment 10-15 yrs. also hours and hours of training. With a dog costing thousands over its life time. A few hundred quid extra now to get the right dog for you. In my opinion would be money well spent now. I have a cocker. Great dog but being my first dog I have found him hard to train as we both have our L plates on. But we are slowly getting there. Also get a pup so it grows up with your children.
  10. Ekke thump Sounds like a great day. Well done.
  11. My son youses Sipe in his 20g 28g x 6's. very good.
  12. Alien. Blonde Alien. got to be. Trust me im a plumber. we know about these things.
  13. I started my son at 11 on a 410 then on to a 20 bore. My daughter at nine had a little go with the 410 with 2" carts. If you start with a 410 & static targets so she can hit the target and get you st to handling the gun and its bang without the kick. I would start at that then let her step up when she is ready. Build her comfidence.
  14. I think a visit to the vet tomorrow would be in order. Dogs at clay shoots also can get very grumpy as they get the gun fire but no work to do. I've seen them get very frustrated by the whole experience. I took my Cocker to a clay shoot twice when he was a pup too get him used to gun fire. From a distance to start with. Then closer when he was ok with it.
  15. Santa. Looks more like PC to me. Did he have a bag with at least 100 pigeons in it. .? If he did it was PC
  16. Hi Fal. Thanks for your reply. I don't give him the meat raw I cook it then dice it and mix it with his Kibble. He loves it. With rabbits I think I will get some steel carts. ATB. DP
  17. Army head over is good round the neck area. Also you can pull it up over your ears and you can still hear quite well.
  18. Is lead shot a health risk to my dog if ingested from eating meat from shot birds and rabbits. When prepping pigeon I very rarely find shot. But with rabbits it's a different matter I do find some shot. If eaten will it pass through or possibly lead poison my dog. ??
  19. Stealth nets are quite good. I use mine most of the time. Light, packs away quite small. Also dries out well if it gets wet. ATB DP
  20. My Cocker has his tail. He works the bushes every day out walking. He is 18 months old and mad for it. So far no problems. However I think he is more likely too damage his tail at home on the furniture when he gets very excited. My daughter wanted one with its tail. That wasn't easy too find. I reckon 95 percent get docked. He also has his dew claws with no problems so far. I do keep a close eye on him after walks and working.
  21. Nice oil slick on the field. Once again outstanding. ATB. DP
  22. What a star. Brilliant. He sounds like a good old boy. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.
  23. J Dog try a rotary and a few decoys below the Beech trees I have been told that can work well. I have not tried it my self as I have no Beech trees on my permission. ATB DP
  24. Yes. Zooming in I can now see it is one of a kind. I have a cheap carp trolley that I've sheared the wheel off a couple of times. I've patched it up with bolts, wood and angle iron. But I fear it won't last the winter. I'm going to try a wheel barrow this winter. Thanks for the info.
