  1. Hi Grandalf Do you know the make and model of that barrow. .? Price and where to get one. ATB DP
  2. I got one for my son 4yrs ago. We've had a lot of fun with it. They are great little guns. Tough and well made. My 12yr old daughter shoots it sometimes with 2inch shells. Great little guns.
  3. Hi I use hyper flappers on my rotary. I find them very good. I have not tried Pro flappers. Hyper flappers do seem flimsy but are quite tough. They can some times be difficult to get set right in strong wind. I have not used mine as bouncers or floaters. I think you can see both working on youtube. ATB. DP
  4. Don't worry the cold weather will knock it right back soon. It's the semi bald and short patches they will look to land in and feed. I don't think it will be too long as other food is sources are getting eaten up fast and the Ivy Berries are not ready yet. I hope the dont flock up too big like a couple of years ago.
  5. You obviously didn't say it nicely and in the right tone. Or is it that time in the month. Kiss and make up. She looks a fine girl.
  6. Totally agree. Confidence breeds success. I'm not a bad shot. But if I have a bad day. It's usually down to my lack of concentration or application. I like RC Sipe 32gr 6s. Pricey. But for me my favourites. For me the birds drop like house bricks when I use them. Or that's the way it seems. We could talk cartridges till the cows come home. You pay your money. You take your choice.
  7. Outstanding once again. Pressure. What pressure. I said you walk on water. ATB. DP
  8. I recon he will get. 256 & 25 crows. Backache, hernia and shell shock.
  9. Fine looking pups. Double trouble. You've got your hands full now.
  10. With young birds do you some times hold back from shooting them.Just in case it's a stock dove. I get a few stock doves in my area and I find young woodies being a bit smaller and a bit skittish and lacking neck bars just make me hold back. Then I see the wing bars as they leaving the pattern and the swearing under my breath starts. Not always. Depends on their approach and light conditions.
  11. Just another update on this story. The police arrested another man in Bicester in connection with this case. This came as a result of the raid last week.
  12. I understand the whole raid was partly to do with clamping down on the digging up of artefacts from heritage sites. I think this bloke has been doing this. The bomb disposal guys must have found some suspicious items. I agree 99 percent of what he had is widely for sale and legit. Like I said the other day. A hobby that has got a bit out of hand. It did shake my neighbour hood up. I hope they are not to hard on him. I am told locally he is a good bloke and a decent family man. At the end of the day I hope common spence prevails. It will be interesting to know in time what he had dug up and shouldn't of had.
  13. That all kicked off 200 yds from my front door. My son went to school with his daughter a few years ago. I heard the second explosion. It looks like a hobby that got way out of hand. The gun with the tube is a Lewis gun. A Lmg that I think was water cooled. I think they blew up some grenades and mortar shells that he had dug up. I think he had a mix of ww1 & ww2 gear.
  14. Nice dog mate. She is very similar to my boy Blaze. Pictures are great.
  15. Acme 210 for me also. Dog responds well to it when he is not ignoring me. Ha ha
  16. Great bag. Don't worry about ratios. Enjoy your day. Keep an eye on that field. You might get another day on it.
  17. Hi Dr D I had one about three years ago a little bit whiter. Definite woody. Size, weight and markings. Freak of nature I guess. I've seen a few on the forum. When I shot mine I had a heart stopping moment that I had shot a barn owl. ATB DP
  18. Thats not great. The cuts will heal quicker than the tendons. I cut the one on the back of my right thumb it took about six weeks to get out of the strap I had to wear. Tendons take time to heal because not much blood flows through them. Yours sounds far worse. ATB DP
  19. He does love putting pheasants up. He gives me a real dirty look when I don't shoot them. On my permission I'm not allowed to shoot them. I Have to keep the local game keeper happy. That's fine with me as he keeps an eye on my van when it's parked up.
  20. He is one hell of a hunter but has proved hard work to train to retrieve. As I am led to believe this is fairly typical of the breed. He is learning and should get there i hope. He is my first dog and both of us have learned a lot from each other. Great fun to have.
  21. No he is a working cocker. Sprockers are very similar just a little bit bigger. Blaze has a sprocker friend and they are alike.
  22. With Aunt Sally bye my side. Perfect !
  23. Hi Matt Try an army Bergan. Or a decoy bag. The JackPyke ones are ok. I use both. Or look at the on line decoy gear sellers for other options. ATB. DP
  24. You don't have to put it next to bails. You can put it out in the open. Put some straw on your hat and keep still. Let us know how you get on. ATB. DP
