  1. Ignore me I've learnt to read the post before replying. Lol
  2. If you would prefer to use this on the fowl I'm sure someone with a dog would take you out. If not good luck with the sale.
  3. Hi folks, this is my 10. If anyone is intetested im happy to meet. Im in the NE at least once a month and the wash in the season. I will consider sensible offers and can chuck in some reloading cases wads etc.. for the right price.
  4. I use this model on the Marsh, its lasted a good few seasons despite numerous soakings and internal rust ups. Prety econonical on the batteries too. Not the brightest but enough to keep you on your feet and out of bother.
  5. In my experience local knowledge or others experience have helped more than anything else. If you have an area in mind it might be worth just posting it up. The basc do a permit book which think covers some of the shootable reserves and will advise you Yes or No if you ask them if you can shoot a specific area. Jon
  6. Thanks for the replys chaps, i think caution is the best approach as you say. jayDT10, this is the scenario I have had at the back of my mind! Looks like I'm going to need to do some door knocking, oh well might get some shooting permission out of it! Jon
  7. Hi folks, Up until now my dog trainings been goinng pretty well and I'm fast approaching time where a dummy launcher and/or starting pistol would be beneficial. I live in a really built up Area but with surprising amounts of waste/Recreational ground Dotted tthroughout. Where do I stand using the launcher and blank firer in these types of areas? Best regards Jon
  8. Hi All, Does anyone know where you can do the DSC1 course on a weekend? I'm trying to arrange a course for myself and a friend before the end of Feb. I'm based in the midlands but happy to travel anywhere to get it done. Thanks Jon
  9. Providing you get the length of the loaded RTO cartridge as short as or shorter than your factory load you'll have no problems (you may have a slight additional tollerence here but usually not a lot), fired case length is irrelevant, is the cartridge loading into the chamber from the mag which will jam not the one being extracted.
  10. Cheers Logo, I'll get one knocked up Sat. Jon
  11. Hi All, Im after a bit of advice re kennel size And shape. I've just finished building my new pups run and am about to start on the kennel. He is crated inside at night the moment but will be moving him outside as soon as everythings ready. My questions are what size should I make the kennel, and would you go for a sleeping box in a shed or kennel with draft partician? The run the kennel will be going in is 2.5m x 2m if that helps. Cheers Jon
  12. Hi folks, I have about a tin and a half of Nobel 80, what is it worth roughly? Cheers Jon
  13. Cheers Big Mat, Motty, Maybe i'll have a lie in instead! I think Iv'e been spoiled on the inland! Jon
  14. Ah do folks, Anybody been over the wash arroud the Sutton Bridge area in the last few days, if so anything about? Geese had moved off last time I was over. Cheers Jon
  15. I agree you can cleanly drop a goose with 34g of steel bb's if you limit your range suitably. Personally I would prefer to have the densest pattern I can get for me this is means 3.5". Jon
  16. SBE 2 or zabala 3.5" sxs The auto gets the most outings as its just so easy to strip and clean, I rarely fire the 3rd shot to be honest but its nice to have it just in case. Jon
  17. Have to agree with anser2 the necessity for a 3.5" has come about due to lead shot restrictions. A 3" 50g no3 lead load will out pattern and penetrate better than most if not all non toxic loads but is no longer legal. 3.5" larger pellet loads have been designed to try to maintain pattern and lethal energy at reasonable shotgun distances. Jon
  18. My friend has a 3" hatsan and a 3.5" the 3 works like a dream on all cartridges including light clay loads the 3.5" sometimes struggles with 3" magnum loads. Not sure if its because its an older model and I haven't seen any other 3.5"s in action but check this out before you spend your cash. As one or two have said theres also a sxs to consider I have a zabala sxs, steel proofed, multichoke with 3.5" chambers which i brought for less than your budget. Jon
  19. Thanks chaps, . I'll have a look at these, seems like its exactly what im after. I expect the tight patterns will take a little getting used to but i'd rather have a tight patten and drop what I hit. At the moment I have found exactly the same as you B B, anything larger than size 2 and the pattern is useless, which for me means no goose shooting wth steel. jon
  20. Hi all I have read about people using full or 3/4 after market chokes with big steel loads with great success. I'm using a SBE2 at the moment with standard chokes which limits me to half choke with large steel loads and aren't impressed with the patterns achieved. My questions are do the after market chokes make a that much difference and if so which make / choking are you using? Cheers Jon
