  1. Anyone know of some tough gloves for this years beating. Cheap fishing one only last half a season and most get soaking wet in rain. Want a strong set of reasonable waterproof
  2. I cut anytime I see a good bit, 12 months for normal use but longer if it has a knob end or it will crack. Have a steamer made from length of steel tube and wallpaper steamer to get nice and straight
  3. I have also had a shoulder injury and started to use Gamebore evo 21g and really like them. My scores have actually gone up a few using them. They also do a 24g evo and going to try them through my auto

    Sticks

Selection of stick for sale, these range in price from £15 to £30 . Collection only from just near junction 14 on M1. If you need a new stick for coming season or a unique present give me a shout
  5. I think that the majority of wildfowlers use non toxic cartridges. Our duck syndicate certainly do. The problem is that many commercial shoots make up the numbers with a duck drive, I have seen on many occasions guns just use the game cartridges on both game and ducks. These shoots are also more likely to sell to game dealers
  6. Can’t find cc3 area on goggle maps, could you be more specific
  7. Have a Franchi Affinity but 28g Gamebore recoil in it as much as 21g Fiocci in my s686. It will not eject 21g so may try some 24g to see if they eject
  8. I damaged my shoulder earlier this year and have been using 21g Gamebore evo and Fiocci T21, both have performed really well and my scores have gone up a little. This may be because I have had to shoot gun up all the time or been concentrating more but intend to carry on using these cartridges for future
  9. Just come back from south coast and BP in Petersfield £1.68 but local still over £1.80 so someone’s making a killing. There should be a review of companies by government into the profit these garages are making and tax accordingly

    Driving License

Yes you have to change to a new photo ID licence when you reach 70. But it is free and can be done online, was worried that they would not include all my groups, like motorcycles but it all went through ok
  11. I do cut sticks anytime if I see one that I can’t get during the winter. If possible I would leave but sometimes not possible, we shoot on some Mod land that is restricted on movement so needs must
  12. Few farmers will just let total strangers shoot on there land, and I don’t really blame them. You need to get to know them, try asking for some beating on local shoots which is a good way of getting to know people and farmers
  13. We had some auto feeders that came from USA and were call Kenco straight feeders that throw a straight line of feed along the edge. These have now worn out so I brought auto feeder from A1 Decoys and these throw 360 degrees, so made a thin aluminium baffle round most of the cage. This worked well and with a bit of trial and error it now throws about 90 degrees arc. We have some shallow areas that it works well
  14. Walnut pheasant head on a hazel twist made recently.
  15. Have Franchi Affinity inas new condition, has all the shims new in box to adjust as required
  16. Oxford Gun company have an offer on Tuesday to Thursday clay at 29p each if anyone interested
  17. Got a nice Franchi Affinity black, like new with Benelli hard case. Only had hundred or so through it. Base in north bucks
  18. We have several charity shops in town and over the years have picked up some good bargains. Picked up a tilly waterproof hat for £3 and use it for all my beating.
  19. Been using steel shot cartridges for duck shooting for nearly 20 years. Most of them Gamebore silver steel with fibre wad. Really good cartridges but 3” chamber required . Will use normal steel cartridges through my old Beretta which is not steel proofed for everything else. Odd game day will be bismuth through a W.W.Greener 16 bore. If people are really going to stop shooting because of this change then all the better for those who don’t
  20. We have our own small club and charge £10 for 50, and still make a small profit. Have 11 automatic traps we have brought over the years. Just go a pallet of eco friendly clays which are more expensive so may have to increase it £12 for 50. However a lot of people just want to rock up shoot and go home. Ask them to get traps and batteries out or clear up and you would thing we ask the world. So they can go and pay £0.4 a clay and we will keep it to ourselves.
  21. This is a copy of Eley cartridges from 1978 and at that time they only did Maximum in BB,4,5,6 as per photo
  22. Worked for many years in railway engineering, served my time as fitter and turner and we had couple of lathes that turned wheels and axles complete. You actually stood on the tool post to work the lathe. Also had a cross cut table saw to cut wood and the blade stood over 6ft out of the table, when running it was frightening to watch it cut huge logs like butter
  23. Sorry £15 each, oak and stainless sold
  24. Hardwood priests, all hardwood. One is stainless steel with oak, one is brass with boxwood and the other is boxwood with lead filling. These are really tactile and £15 posted
