  1. same with me altho think mine was about 6 months
  2. here you go... https://www.brownells.co.uk/epages/UK.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=2058841&ViewAction=ViewFaceted&FacetValue_CategoryID=12615&CurrencyID=GBP
  3. I'm whatever it says on my passport.
  4. I eat them! give them away, sell some, dog food...whichever....most of the farmers I shoot for just want them gone, they wouldnt care if I left them where they were shot.
  5. I presume you're after rabbits, so I'd be looking for rabbit burrows damaging hedges, crops being damaged, grazing being hit hard etc
  6. fellow cornishman here, I'm down on the lizard pen so cant help with perms, best way of getting perm I found is to look around, find a problem with rabbits or the like then approach the farmer to help with that specific problem, I found that general permission on their land soon follows if you do a good job. Have fun!
  7. Is it how much land or why you need a FAC for said land? my field is only a few acres but because I farm rabbits and have pultry I need a rifle to control foxes and wild rabbits.
  8. My cz511 used to love winnie subs until a while ago then something changed and the grouping opened up, I changed to RWS which were very accurate and consistant but my rfd stopped stocking them, I'm now on eley subs which are performing aswell as the winnies used to and have a good HP.
  9. Also I find that shop bought chillis arent always the best, I buy in bulk from here... https://www.spicesofindia.co.uk and freeze them, quality chillis at a fraction of the price
  10. also you can sweeten it with mango chutney, I quite like a hot sweet curry like the madras.
  11. this... I've never targetted them but have had them while fishing for other species... not many tho!
  12. brussels...a sure fire way to ruin any meal!
  13. mines a bit more complex with these aswell red/green peppers, cabbage, carrot, fenugreek, paprika and garamasala, water and cook for a few hours or do as I do and cook it in a pressure cooker for 30mins. I only use fresh veg, makes a difference!
  14. I make a big batch of base gravy (as they do in a resturant) wack it into portion size containers then freeze it, once thats done it literally takes minutes to defrost and add the other ingredients to make whatever you like, the longest part is the defrosting! Thats how they serve so quickly in resturants, everything starts with that base gravy.
  15. As above I've spent months perfecting the British Indian Resturant style currys, I now cook them the same as they do in the resturants by using a pre made curry gravy, pre cooked meats etc, I can make any of the well known currys to better than take away standard in 15mins or so... I'll never eat a take away curry again as mine are better! Shop bought stuff is pure tripe! Curry Guy Dan was my main source of how to do it, I bought his book which is very good but most is on his site too.... take a look! http://www.greatcurryrecipes.net/
  16. as above... get out there and meet the farmers... I've had the best success where I've pre identified a problem on their land whether that might be crows, pigeon or rabbits then approach the farmer asking if he wants help with that particular problem, if they agree I sort the problem then go back to the farmer explaining how I've got on, more often than not this will lead to more shooting.... rather than a "Can I shoot on your land?" approach
  17. Oh and the luck didnt stop there, I asked Mel if his wife could make a leather sling with my lads initials engraved, the sling arrived, great bit of leather working and then Mel very kindly gifted it to my lad! My son loves it!
  18. shes a beauty, right time right place me thinks... if you're not in a rush best to keep your eyes peeled and see what turns up.
  19. on the flip side when I was on a closed ticket and asked for some land to be cleared we did it over the phone, I gave them the location, they checked it out on OS maps (I presume) and cleared it there and then. Sounds like Devon and Cornwall are a bit less restrictive than some others... are simply lack of staffing and time to come out in person!
  20. Was it like this? I bought that one off Mel for £125 for my lad, its a cracking little gun! so light and folds to go in a back pack if needs be. I had a look around a while back and they do seem to be going up in price. Just had a quick look and found these... https://www.gunstar.co.uk/belgium-made-410-bore-gauge-side-by-side/Shotguns/982005 https://www.gunstar.co.uk/elbar-hammer-action-410-bore-gauge-side-by-side/Shotguns/938714 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/unknown/hammer/410-gauge/170911103619959 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/belgian/side-by-side/410-gauge/180214191639485 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/parkemy/side-by-side/410-gauge/171006121308003 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/unknown/hammer/410-gauge/170911103619959 Last two look the best, one needs the wood work sorting.
  21. This, my young kids dont take any notice of my guns as I've never made a thing of them , as you did I let them handle them and teach them safe handling. They love coming hunting but its all about the hunt and experience not the guns.
  22. this! oh and dont try and get your knee down!
  23. 3k would get you a nice Hilux Surf as an example https://www.gumtree.com/p/toyota/toyota-hilux-surf/1286228528 Will tow the world, good off road, toyota reliability, loads of space etc
  24. put a heavy plastic sack or bin bag inside your rucksack, instant waterproofing.
  25. Deserves better? I've never had a pigeon come back and ask to be more dead. Next time out I'll polish each cart first and maybe stick a daisy or two in the crimp....that should keep them happy.
