  2. I’ve still got one that’s 50 years old - fair to say it’s got a bit of patina ! Please do keep a look out I’m always on PW looking for the next bargain that I don’t need 🤣 thanks again 👍

  8. Anyone got any experience with the above sizing wise . I am a normal XL 46” 48” their XL listings and size charts list XL at 44” XXL at 46” and XXL at 48” in short do these come up big or small ? Or am I now a 3XL 😬
  9. Love paying a visit to Graham Mckinlays , going next week for an another browse and chat, a proper gun shop indeed !
  10. Hoggs of Fife struther smock - best value around dry and warm, but you don’t melt in it
  11. I picked up a William Powell Monarch (Arrieta) 20 bore 30” Five pin Sidelock fully cased with accessories very recently (mint condition ) I believe this was the mid range one when they were built by Arrieta, I have the original receipt too, It will shoot standard steel if I ever need to, until then I’ll enjoy it the way it is, it’s a stunning wee gun for under a third of the new cost! I am biased mind you as I really like Arrieta and Spanish Sidelocks in general
  12. I just find it removes barrel fouling far better, and leaves a far better finish than legia, if used sparingly, I did really like the old green legia though
  13. I used to use Leiga but I find Napier is far better, I use it for everything stock action barrels
  14. I have two pairs of Brand Ecosse cervo 11” and Rubicons, both 5 years old and like new, just look after them, I’ve had altbergs too, however I found them deadly on some slippery surfaces
  15. Just bought a Harkila Stornoway tweed, not cheap, although there's bargains out there but top quality and lightweight, and does all the things your looking for
  16. I also live relatively close to Graham McKinlays - the best place for a browse around, and a proper gent into the bargain, think I’ll pop down next week for a chat and a wee look 😊
  17. Anyone got any idea around Harkila jacket sizing do they come up big /small ? I am generally a XL 46ish The jacket would only be worn over a shirt and sweater not loads of layers any advice greatly appreciated
  18. Same height and weight, there you go, as with most things, the older stuff is better, obviously sized different now, thank for the reply
  19. Thank you - I had contacted Laksen who told me their jackets generally come up small😳 I would say I’m a true XL 46 /48” so went to 2XL !!! This must be for a grizzly bear, I couldn’t believe the size of it. I reckon more like a normal 5 XL. Anyway glad it’s going back because I’m afraid I don’t see the 600 odd quid in it, thank you for the replies 👍
  20. Does anyone have a Laksen Wingfield tweed coat? If so does it come up true to size / big or small. It will only be worn over a shirt and sweater
