  1. My Dads got GG AT3 on the freelander 2, he rates them well.
  2. I had the 3.0tdi Touareg on a 14 plate. R line spec with the air suspension. Really comfy car!! on a run it would do about 36/38 mpg around town 28/30mpg good quality car. It did also have the upgraded comfort seats that you could adjust electrically even the side wings so you could get the seats to hug you if required. I test drove an X5 and felt like i was back in my lowered escort, the ride was so hard you felt every bump in the road. I only got rid of The Touareg because i needed to get a truck through my business, so i ended up buying the amarok due to liking the V6 tdi engine.
  3. I would keep it nice and simple with the 200tdi. my dad had nothing but agro with his td5 Disco.(leaky fuel cooler, split fuel chamber which is built into the head. oil getting in the loom etc etc. in my opinion the TD5 is a **** engine. my defender which had a 200tdi always fired first time and never let me down.
  4. I have a mountfield with the honda engine, still going strong 16 years in, i have serviced it once. the only thing thats starting to go is the deck. I will use it until it dies. and go buy another.
  5. I have the V6 Amarok. it works well for me, i have the truckman top and the dog loves her big bedroom.
  6. my money is with rob525 suggestion.

    Self employed

Im glad this has been posted. I also run a limited company, I have been on the Gov website and come out of it feeling even more confused. Fingers crossed for tomorrows announcement.
  8. Yes the Basc deal won hands down when i purchased the vitara. The discount isn't as much now, so not sure if it can be beaten by Carwow etc.
  9. I got my wifes Suzuki vitara through the basc scheme. at the time is was nearly 30% of the price. the dealer said they pretty much made nothing on the car. All i had to do was show my membership card and proof of ID and the dealer did the rest. I think you need to be a BASC member for at least 2 years before you are eligible.
  10. As said above, install a firestopper tank and you will be fine.
  11. No, different heat exchanger for the heating and hot water. the hot water uses a plate heat exchanger which can get scaled up or sludged up if the heating circuit wasnt flushed properly.
  12. The other test should be carried out as Schmitty said earlier, to check if the diverter valve is bypassing slightly. let the boiler cool, turn on the hot water and see if the heating flow and return pipes get hot if they are then the diverter valve needs cleaning/replacing
  13. Thats a bit low it should be about 12/13 on that with boiler. do you have any type of water filter on the cold main before it goes into the boiler? is your water hard? i big give away is how much scale do you get in your kettle? the inside of your plate heat exchanger could be scaled up.
  14. As said above, more likely the diverter valve not seating properly or could be the plate heat exchanger. was the system flushed properly when the boiler was changed?
  15. Power flush out and give the rads a vibrate at the same time. but be prepared to find some pin holes if the rads are getting on a bit. Is your heating system open vent or sealed? Feed and expansion tank in loft = open vent. Sealed should have a pressure gauge and expansion vessel. if its open vent, you might have a problem with pumping over and thats why its sludged up.
  16. Shame you are so far away, i would of had this. 7 hour round trip for me. good luck with the sale.

    35 Dakotas

Il be watching for them as they fly past the Southend pier.
  19. Yeah 60 mph i tried that for about 10 mins 😂 then got bored. the best i ever got was 39mpg. my R line was the 245ps i had the goodyears and then michelin crossclimates on it. i agree the box can be a bit hesitant, some re code them to the Porsche settings and have said its a bit better.
  20. Around town was around 25 mpg. on a run i was getting around 36mpg. this was calculated using an app so wasn't relying on the instrument display. which generally was saying a couple of mpg better. i serviced it myself. the oil changes were as simple as any other car. the only real pain is when you need to change the rear discs due to the electronic hand brake. you need vagcom/vcds to retract the hand brake to avoid any lights coming up. they can be fussy with tyres so make sure the car has four tyres of the same make and are all within a few mm of each other otherwise you can end up with driveline problems. the 8 speed auto is really smooth. and the 3.0 v6 tdi is the same as in all the audi's etc so i well proven engine. same car as the posrche apart from some panels and interior.
  21. I had a 2014 R line. lovely car. it had the upgraded air suspension so was super comfy. mine was pre add blue so a T3. the later 2015 up to 2017 was T4 and had add blue. The easy check, look at the rear exhausts if they are oval its a T3 if they are angular its a T4.
