Mostly CCI and Hornady, one Remington - the one which jammed a bullet in the barrel! -
17HMR cracked case comparison
Mutiny replied to spandit's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
I've had cases from various manufacturers split in the same manner as pictured above, the only rounds I've had hangfires/squib rounds have been Remington -
It could be said that it would hurt our cause - game shoots switching to steel could be seen as an admission that shooting lead is terrible for the environment, and also that the majority of shooters are happy to shoot steel/see it as a viable alternative to lead, which is a contentious issue!

Muller U2 Crio+ choke, bought for my Benelli M2, no longer needed £45 delivered
-
I've got an Umarex beretta, a little over your budget but if you're interested I can email you photos tomorrow
-
Thanks for the confirmation, not that I'll be carrying out the work myself, but still wouldn't been keen on it in the house loaded!
-
Thanks for the advice guys! I've put a rod down the barrel and there is an approximate difference in length of 20mm, both barrels show the same difference. Demonwolf - do not fear, it won't be getting deactivated! Many thanks for your input, will check my PM'S

Not that I can see, but I'll clean it up a bit tomorrow and see if there are any markings underneath the top layers of rust and grime!

But only if you plan to keep it as an ornament/collectors item, which I do not! If you plan on using it it needs to go on your certificate. Granted, it needs a substantial amount of work put in to get it to the point of safely being able to use it!

Evening chaps, my grandma died recently and we've been sorting through the house clearing decades of junk. My Aunt found this in a corner of the garage, with some drain rods and other ****. I have my SGC & FAC, and will be speaking to my FEO on Monday about this - they've already been over to collect a revolver (typically that was in fantastic condition!). No one in the family (who is still living) has ever seen it before, so no help there. I'm interested in finding out the history of the gun, maker, possible age etc, and I'm hoping someone on pigeonwatch is going to be the person to tell me lol.

I've got some Winchester Super X here - 52g of #4, 3" cartridge. Don't worry about the recoil - you'll feel the hit much more in your wallet at £15 per 10 -
What sort of money are you looking to spend?

Nv Add on is an Archer. I've got a deben tracer lamp which is ideal for searching , I just left it at home!
-
Thanks guys! Can't wait to get out again

Hopefully the first of many, spotted another 3 but none came within a range I was comfortable with except this little lady. Apologies for the picture quality - I only got the one chance to take it before my battery died. Must remember to take my lamp next time, the iphone torch isn't ideal for lighting up fields to locate things you've shot, and it depletes the battery quickly too!

I had a 30ft/lb rapid, zeroed that at 50 yards and that worked well for me. I did stick to head shots though, didn't feel comfortable with body shots
-
Aha so it's possible to get a Daystate that does it then. Haha for some reason a lot of things I buy or want to buy fit into one of those categories! I'll just keep an eye on gunwatch etc
-
Nope not worth it if the power difference is only 30% between high and low. Pity really as then one gun could do two jobs. Thanks guys

If you have an FAC Airwolf can you set it up, or have it set so that on the low power setting it is 12ft/lbs?

Lanes 2 & 3 being for overtaking makes perfect sense If ( and its a big if) people are sticking to the speed limits Example: A lorry, a van and a car all in lane 1, in that order Lorry restricted to 56 MPH Van overtakes - moves into lane 2. The speed limit for a van on a motorway/dual carriageway is 60MPH Car wants to be past the van and the lorry - moves into lane 3 - 70MPH Et Voila - Everyone is abiding by the speed limit and legally overtaking in lanes 2 & 3

+1 Also price for a variation has gone down

I've got a T3 with the 1:8, it seems to like the PPU 69g and the Hornady 55g Vmax already mentioned
-
I've got a .223 based on 1 permission of 47 acres, depends on your land, and issuing force (I'm with Northumbria)

I didn't watch them all, I did watch the first 2 and I quite enjoyed them. Not sure why, or if it's just me but I can happily spend hours watching reloading footage on YouTube
