  7. Well you need to let a few get away for next time
  8. Same scam on an engineering site I visit, only this time he is the seller working on board ship somewhere. Couple of people got scammed, paid for items and his "agent" never turned up with item. Paypal accounts also hit. Cucumbers and Nuns again
  9. And know the bits you tend to forget, 1 fire place was all heating we had, bedroom windows thick with ice on the inside!!. I done a morning paper round for 3 years up at 6.30 six mornings a week, come the first winter I tried to pull a "sickie" one morning, chucking it down with rain. Dad walks into my bedroom and announced that I had a job to do and missing a day I would need at least a broken leg!!!!. Now, mummy brings our paper girl round in the car when it is raining Digging the whole garden for spuds and cauilflowers at 11years old when Dad done his back in. Sawing up old railway sleepers and chopping it for kindling, (10 year old let lose with an axe!!) Wearing short trousers all year round till I was 12, it's a wonder I have any knees left. Being stood in the garden at 13 and made to smoke one of my grandads roll ups (christ knows what the tar content was!!) in one go after my Dad found out me and my mates had bought 10 Park Drive from the local shop. I was as sick as a dog!!. Not the brightest thing to do as my Mum worked there part time, and we were all known in the village. Then as a teenager walking the six miles home about twice a week if I missed the last bus. No phones then to ring up the parents, and I can just imagine my Dads reply if I we did have a phone
  10. Oh where do I begin, The Goons, The Navy Lark, Around the Horne, on the radio, and Hancock on the black and white. No peer pressure over having the latest trainers or designer T shirt. During the school holidays out of the house at 8.00 o'clock in the morning and back home for tea at 6. Parents did not have a clue where we were. Time was spent Fishing, Diana air rifles that could just about manage 30 yards!!! trying to snare rabbits, and building forts from the straw bales during the harvest. In the run up to Nov 5th groups of kids could be seen roaming the village with felling axes hand axes and bow saws, the local woods always lost a couple of trees. No one was ever killed or maimed, and no one gave us second look!!. Would I want to be a kid today, no chance, I despair at the pressure on my grandkids to grow up to quickly, the modern world of instant communication and social media have a lot to answer for.
  11. my company van is a 05 Connect, 172000 on the clock. It has just started to use a bit of oil, and the usual consumables, 1 wheel bearing, discs, brake drums, etc. It has never let me down, and that goes for the other 2 on the firm. The Boss has tried the French and Italian offerings , thats why our small fleet of six commercials are Ford Transits of various shapes and sizes.
  12. Have done Cadwell trackdays a few years back. It is a bit narrow and technical, but you are there to enjoy yourself and ride the bike home!! not to fight for Crutchlow's ride . As everyone else has said ride to your limits, don't get drawn into keeping up with someone else. Ohh, and there is no shame in being "bumped" down a group. I asked to be bumped down from the fast group the last time at Cadwell and enjoyed it so much more. After all that is what you are there for.
  13. The wife does jewellery making as a hobby and placed an order for bits online 2 months ago, 3 days after placing the order she gets an e-mail to say they are out of stock (their website showed the item in stock)!!. Now after 2 months she rang them to have it out with them, the reply "we are waiting for more orders of that item so we can order from our supplier" . Then they could not understand why she cancelled the order and demanded a refund!!!! Really unbelievable!!!
  14. Alan, Thanks for the invite today and It was good to meet you , shame about the weather and nothing wanting to play ball Hope you have better luck Monday. ****.
  15. Check out this web page http://www.youngbar.com.tw/e/b3-2.htm and the pump curve for pump 5, Similar to yours, add another 1 metre for frictional head, (the resistance of the pipework) and you start to get the picture. At 8 metres head you are looking at a flow rate of approx 75 l/s ****
