  1. Any help the forum can provide will be greatly appreciated. I've got a Lanber 12g already, but i've been looking for another. Theres 3 guns i've seen at the local dealers, all second hand but in excellent condition. Not sure of the models off the top of my head, but they are a bettonsili, Miroku and Browning. They're priced £395, £450 and £550 respectively. Any thoughts on which make is the best choice?
  2. Thanks for all the welcomes, really appreciate that. I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but i'm originally from Ashington in Northumberland. So i'm a Northumbrian and not a Geordie as most people think. I have to agree that shotgunning is addictive, as I stated though, tends to be clays due to the lack of opportunities.
  3. I am just starting out on the forum, so still a bit unfamiliar at the moment. Just new to Shotgunning and all that goes with it, still making mistakes etc, however so far so good. Been shooting air rifles for years, targeting crows, pigeons, magpies, rats etc and still do. Been rimfire shooting with mates before, however after blasting clays at the range. Decided i wanted to give the real thing a go. Love it!
  4. Firstly, i have only just joined this forum. I too have been trying for some time to gain permissions of my own. The areas i can shoot on, tend to be too sparse of quarry. So i branched out looking for a permission of my own. As stated, i have tried knocking on several places and farms in North/south/east and west Northumberland, where there is obvious signs of crop damage from birds and rabbit warrens all over. This was all to no avail, i wrote letters to estate managers and farm owners in the hope of looking more professional, including google earth images of the said damage. Again no success, the message back, would be that there was already farm hands doing the job or others. I offered to pay, do some form of work in exchange. Still nothing!!! The impression i get, is a distinct lack of trust and suspicion is being expressed. i enjoy shooting and farms need protection from pests, a win win for both surely. Yet only frustration. Coolerking
