  1. There is a spray you can use inside a visor on motorbike helmets ? maybe try that ? It's cheap enough. Wez
  2. By Border Collie has mostly Raw meat, including the bones and all. As a treat , any old biscuit with no additives with a tin of mackerel in sunflower oil poured all over it. Dog food wise though I thought James Wellbeloved biscuits were supposed to have no additives or gluten in them if you must feed dry food, or Butchers tripe based tins if you want to feed wet food. Wez
  3. I really liked mine, but traded it in yesterday for a Beretta 686 E as I wanted longer barrels I had the engraved one. Never let me down once, so I hope the Beretta is as reliable. Wez.
  4. Drove all the way to Ian Coley ground from Devon today only to be told my buddy could not shoot as he hasn't got a cert (yet). I questioned it, as I have taken him with me to 5 other places and never had a problem before. I was quickly put in my place and informed it was against the law !! In quite a blunt tone I hasten to add (grumpy ******), followed by a lecture about some bloke shooting his mates somewhere.... (He could shoot , if we stumped up 25 pounds for someone to watch us.) So it would seem all other places are breaking the law ? That aside, we went into the shop, as I am looking for a 30" Sporter to replace my Lanber (already). Asked the sales man what they had in the £1000 quid range. Got shown one gun before the fella walked off !! Like wasn't worth his time to sell just a £1000 thing.. All in all, not impressed.. Note: I am not always grumpy, honest , It's just that I bend over backwards to make sure every single customer I have is happy, so I am not used to apathy when trying to spend money We went to Brook Bank on the way back instead, and have to say, what extremely friendly people there, polite, cheerful, and no issue with the mate shooting. (I didn't remind them of which law they were breaking). Wez www.wezmoto.co.uk
  5. People might already know, but it seems Lanber have gone into administration. I phoned GMK (the importers) to find out about getting a 2098 model new, and was told no, as they are going :( Now which gun will I buy, I only wanted to change so I could get a 30" barrel instead of the 28" I have. (Yes , I Know, I have only had this one six weeks) I liked the Lanber fine and can't see the point in paying 500 quid more for anything else just for the gun snobbery ( met this already) . Let's hope the parts don't become hard to find, might cause me an issue in the future. Wez.
  6. Thank you very much for the offer, didn't see this till I had already bought a gun. I have bought a Lanber (cheap for now), and am getting out there and just firing a few off to see how I get on. I seem to be able to hit everything going away or coming toward me at the moment, but the crossing targets are giving me stick. I have had one lesson, which didn't go well, but it's a long story. I am trying to keep both eyes open at the moment. If you fancy joining me shooting at Ashcombe or you are going anywhere I could join you, I am up for whatever advice / opinions I can get. Many Thanks, Wez.
  7. not sure, cus as soon as it arrived I tipped six boxes into it loose Wez
  8. I bought this item on ebay and was so impressed with the quality for the price, I thought I would share the info. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230908425956?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Note: I don't know this person or any other reason than it is good value. Wez
  9. Now I have finally bought a shotgun, been looking on the internet at various methods of keeping it clean and well looked after. Interested in peoples opinions on best methods / products out there. I am drawn towards the Napier Ultra Clean, the youtube video makes it look simple enough, or is it just a good sales pitch. Wez.
  10. Well I have just bought my very first shotgun. I bought a Lanber Sporter, nearly new for £500.00 It is at the cheaper end of the market and a lot less than I had budgeted for, but it felt perfect when mounted and when shooting I really liked it, so I took the plunge. Can't wait to get started with some regular practice now, and picking my first coach. Any one got any links to good instructional videos on cleaning shotguns ? Wez.
  11. If he was genuinely aggressive and threatened you, I would let the police know. Ask them not to take any action, but to please make a note on their system at this time. Then, I would put up a camera, in view, and let the neighbor know, telling him you are using it to see if you can work out what is setting them off, (also, if it is not them, or it is not often, you have a record of it or not, should he make an official complaint). Wez.
  12. Lots of interesting posts and some good advice here. So it looks like I need to book a quality lesson with a renowned coach and start as I mean to go on. I had intended to make this my main hobby, so I might as well get it correct off the bat as they say. Now who to choose in the Exeter / Devon area is the next hurdle, although I am more than happy to travel. It would be good to combine a lesson with a gun fit and maybe even a gun purchase at the same time. Wez
  13. I am in Exeter. Been to Ashcombe mostly. Tony there says I need to shut left eye, but it just doesn't feel right. Wez.
  14. I will look into it when I go to buy my first gun. Just trying to sell my expensive mountain bike first, so I can get a decent one. Wez
  15. Been shooting now 10 times and I still can't decide if I have a left eye dominance problem or not ? I do all the little tests and sometimes I seem to and sometimes not, it changes, I think ! Can it be changing ? My scores are not much better with left eye shut, except of specific types of bird. I also don't link squinting, it's like looking through a tube of smarties.
