  1. The guys at Spartan are fabulous and I can’t recommend them enough.
  2. Renewed mine last night. Paperwork for auto renewal came through at £966 ( up from £524 or so this year). Went back online with same details for same company and it’s £744 with enhanced courtesy car. Tried all the comparison sites which were coming up with over a grand. Still, I was sort of expecting worse due to make/model and fact it’s full ev. But I’m saving a shed load in running costs and it’s lowered my household leccy bill too for our heat pump and so the increase in premium has been covered by just one months savings on the house.
  3. If I’m not mistaken. PC members and Parish Councils, are now no longer able to register and ‘objection’, only to submit comments. As to a conflict of interest, had they received individual planning notices from the Planning department? If so, then yes it would be considered a ‘conflict’. Had they not been sent a Planning application notice then they are not required to lodge a conflict of interest statement as far as I’m aware?
  4. Am away at the moment and not sure when I’m over that way?

  8. John You have our thoughts and sympathy. If there is anything that you need, we’re not far away as you know. Jay
  9. My insurance is the same Maintenance costs are the same as other ICE models from this manufacturer but with a greater service interval Depreciation is no worse on this than other ICE prestige vehicles which I pointed out Even though it was over forty k, there is no additional road fund cost (luxury tax), but then again, there is no road fund tax anyway ( changes in 2025 to £180 per annum). No congestion charges So what are the other costs to take into account?
  10. Depreciation, well that depends on the vehicle of course? Certain manufacturers of ICE Vehicles have residual values that make your eyes water, especially if you have gone for their executive models. Think top of the range Peugeot or Citroen, maybe an Alfa etc. The market for EV’a has tumbled, especially since the Government’s push back of the discontinuation of ICE Vehicle sales date. Do I feel like a smug environmentalist for having it? Nope. Am I preaching that people should buy one? Nope, for it’s a mentioned as to what suits the individual. For me and the type of driving that I do, it suits me. I didn’t purchase for residuals, practicality or environmental reasons, I purchased it as it’s a wee beastie and garners the attention of ‘the ladies’ 😉
  11. Which is why I mentioned that the infrastructure will need to adapt, but it won’t as at the moment, I don’t think there are any full ev towing vehicles. But I may be wrong of course
  12. That’s where the ev is so pleasing, everything is ‘instant’, no lag. My boys love the acceleration and the way it forces you into the seat.
  13. Nah, Norfolk internet. Pressed to post once and it took so long I must have pressed it again? Sit in it and make a cuppa. But how many EV’s have you seen towing anyway! Just like leccy hgv’s. But that doesn’t mean that the infrastructure won’t change to encompass them.
  14. The new VW Buzz commercial is a diff beast to the early VW commercial offering which only had a range of around 60 to 80 from what I have read? Ok for inner city works, but nothing else. Being ex 2stroke motocross, four stroke race bikes then of course the experience is diff. But that’s talking bikes. Car wise, do I miss the sound? Nope ( I have turned off the computer generated noise ****). I have had auto cars/trucks for years and eating chicken nuggets from maccy d’s whilst changing gear isn’t my thing 😉 The experience of EV ownership, I can’t say it’s perfect when doing long journeys, but as most of my month is spent not doing so, it’s fine. But do I find it soulless, absolutely not, it’s a beast and makes me smile each time.

  16. Got to love the negative attitude towards EV vehicles from those who don’t own one. I love mine, the linear acceleration, or being preconditioned before my morning journey so I get into a defrosted and warmed vehicle with seats n steering wheel all cosy. Cost wise, I charge at home on an intelligent tariff for only 7.5p per KWH for six hours overnight. Best part, that’s for the whole house and not just the car. So with our ASHP and all washing machine/dishwasher etc set to come on then, I’m laughing. Better still, I get this low tariff at other times of the day too sometimes. My running costs have been half of my ICE vehicle was. I have done some long journeys and only once had a prob with one of the public chargers and never queued for one either. Did I tell you about the 562hp shove too? Insurance wise, almost the same as I was paying for my Navarra and with my insurance renewal in a few months, it’s only going up by a small amount, so that poo poo’s a few other statements made.

    Dignitas

I’m a keen advocate for the ‘right to die’ and believe that given the correct ‘safeguards’, should be accepted. None of us had the option to enter this world, at least give us the choice as to how and when, to exit it! Also, when one’s wishes are clearly defined. Such as in Esther’s case, then why should her family not be allowed to attend the final moment with their mother, for fear of the repercussions. It’s legal in that Country, so why the risk of prosecution on return?
  18. If i can get someone I know nearby to collect, then yes please.
  19. Did the pig just shake it off? Regarding the mag capacity, it could have been only 3 as mentioned above?
  20. Mid 80’s I had one - lost the bolt handle and had to use a screwdriver to cock it. Five round magazine, obv back before the ban. Had a bolt action one too. Don’t think I shot anything bigger than a fly
