  1. In my instance, grammar school is a partially selective state school.
  2. My son goes to a Grammar - got there on the results of his exams 11+ (though strictly it's not called that any more, that's what it is). He also wrote the exam for a local Independent school - didn't make the grade! It really depends on the Independent school. There are all different levels of Independent school - the top ones are very competitive and academic. Of course, if your child went to an independent primary school - that helps alot as they prepare them for the rigours of independent school and the entrance exams. But still - some kids just aren't academic enough.
  3. Ehm, no. Most of the top public schools have an entrance exam very similar to the 11+. Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Comprehension.
  4. If they were not delighted, they would not offer a gun safe :-) The owner could give all sets of keys to the guest. I think putting it in a gun safe while in a holiday property is as reasonable as breaking up the gun and hiding the bits all over. Possibly more reasonable.
  5. There is a place in Vegas where you an hire and fire full-auto machine guns. Not cheap, but an experience i'm told. If you're looking for accessories, they are certainly cheaper in the US. Case in point - Howard Leight electronic earmuff - $45 on amazon.com (inc free delivery) - cheapest UK price (eBay) - 57 squid. Work that one out (and yes, 20% vat doesn't cover all of that difference), Here is one of the vegas places: http://machinegunsvegas.com/guns/full-automatics/ There are loads of them - shop around
  6. Sounds like an opportunity for cottage owners - include a gunsafe on the property.
  7. My main concern is with the quality of protection. Are they equal?
  8. Is there any extra hearing protection to be had from the electronic versions as opposed to passive. Basically is the only difference between the two that you don't need to remove the headset to hear people speaking and other than that they provide equal ear protection? I'm looking at the ear-muffs which completely cover the ear.
  9. Anyone used Peltor Shotgunners passive protection?
  10. Out of curiosity - how would GMK deal with a warranty issue if you are not local? You can't just post a firearm for repair :-)
  11. You need to plug the vulnerability which allowed them to insert that code in the first place, or it will be back.
  12. I suspect the trojan looks at the http referrer (basically the site of the link you clicked on) - if it is not pigeonwatch.co.uk, then you (possibly randomly) see the redirect to the spam ads.
  13. Looks like some Javascript may have been inserted somewhere in ipbard to do random redirects but only when the http referer is not pigeonwatch.co.uk. Crafty!
  14. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/topic/25612-re-directed-from-tu-site/ Similar issue - also on IP.board - so you may want to concentrate your efforts there. Note that it does not re-direct every time you search from google - it is either random, or one some sort of timer to prevent people from constantly being re-directed (presimably so that the trojan stays around longer).
  15. I will PM you an HTTP trace of the issue- might help you track down which bit of code on your site is compromised.
  16. I get the popup both from my pc and iPad - so I doubt it is malware on my side.
  17. I've had that url4short.info page several times - usually when following a link from a google search leadding to pigeonwatch.co.uk.
  18. I only started recently, and was introduced by way of a starter session clay shoot. They cost £30-40 and include everything to get a taste for it. If they like it - they can continue and take it further.
  19. LOL thank you all for the welcome! I'm in Rickmansworth and I'm shooting and taking lessons at AC sporting targets. Only a 30min drive - not bad! Unfortunately I do not have a SGC, and probably will not for some time (spousal disapproval of having a firearm in the house - but I'm working on that!). I would love to come this Sunday, but it is the missus' birthday and I think that idea would go down like a lead pigeon :-) Do you meet every Sunday?
  20. Just started shooting clays - hope to participate in your friendly forums!
