    Kind and caring

In many religions of the world, life comes before protocol. For instance, if an Orthodox Jew had the make the life or death choice between eating pork or dying of starvation - it would be acceptable to eat the pork - as life comes first. I think we've been conditioned by the media to think of some religions as very extreme or inflexible - when in fact they mostly are not.
  2. Who are you hiding from? The missus - or an three letter agency? If the latter, best to grind the device into bits if you want to be 100% sure. That is what they do.

    PayPal Fraud

The other way is if you use the same email/password combination on another site and your details are compromised there. Always use a different password on different sites!
  4. Yes, the Ross Tech VCDS is the dogs danglies, but it costs. There are also fakes about, so be careful http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/
  5. I get them at a Booker cash and carry. They are not easy to find as that part of the rib typically goes for loin chops - so are also not as meaty as what you would find in the US. The ones from meatpacks are popular with the competition bbq crowd - quite meaty. I believe it is Spanish meat. http://www.meatpacks.co.uk/Pork/FribinPorkLoinRibs
  6. They'll come here anyhow (or at least try damn hard) - so we'd still get the illegals + the 20,000.
  7. One thing I have noticed is that the differential between petrol and diesel is unusually small - 2 or 3p. I'm putting this down to lower demand for heating oil due to the time of year - but I can't be sure.

  9. Looks like LNG exports start in 2016 - but will they be viable? http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/34c90b6c-419f-11e4-b98f-00144feabdc0.html
  10. I thought that the reason they could not sell was their LNG terminals were configured purely for import - as that was all they were doing at one state. They have been slowly converting them to be able to EXPORT LNG - but as you can imagine, high energy industries in the US have been lobbying hard to prevent this or at least slow it down as they were addicted to cheap shale energy. I think that not opening their gas to export would be against WTO (or someother agreement) rules. There was a programmed on Radio 4 a year or so ago on this very subject.
  11. Pubs can't do both? Seems like a no-brainer if staff are already there.
  12. It may be the problem for some, and a solution/saviour for others. Somehow, coffee shops are able to thrive, and expand, but pubs are closing down. It's a head scratcher.
  13. As an aside: You may want to check some of the legal ramifications of moving in together. Not the most romantic of things to discuss - but probably prudent to come up with an agreement on how you share things and financial & property issues in the event of a split. I have heard of some nightmare stories. http://www.advicenow.org.uk/living-together/
  14. I don't drink either - and find the soft drinks prices ridiculous. What annoys me too is that the drinks are sold in small glasses. Want a pint of soft drink - sure no problem, lets jack up the price to the same level as a pint of Lager. I can understand that licensed premesis are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to making a profit - but they are losing customers by doing this. They need to find another way - pubs need to re-invent themselves. Starbucks seem to do OK selling over-priced coffee (hint hint).

    Ticks

Lymes is pretty serious - particularly if not diagnosed. I recall seeing a program on some tick proof clothing - http://www.rovince.co.uk/- not sure how well it works, but if you are in the fields alot might be worth considering. Some other useful info here: http://www.lymediseaseaction.org.uk/

    Ticks

Is anyone here concerned with Lymes?
  17. I do find it hard to accept that fine people like you who worked hard all their lives are treated worse than people who have never worked a day in their life. The idea that we pay 'national insurance' is a joke to the extreme when you are paying into an insurance policy which doesn't pay out when you need it most, or pays out more to people who put in less. In my eyes we should all be equal in the eyes of the state - or at the very least, abolish 'national insurance' and call it something else - because insurance it isn't.
  18. Yeah, they banned the use of newspaper in the 80's didn't they?
  19. Not sure where you are moving to - but I see you are in HERTS. If you are a member at Atkin Grant & Lang - they offer free gun storage as part of your membership. It is about an hour away from Bishops Stortford - but might be worth looking at.
  20. I see there is a Bubba Gumps in London - perhaps i'll give that a go!
  21. I believe this is quite popular in Japan: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/restaurants/11499354/Eating-sushi-off-naked-models-A-fishy-business....html Interesting to see it take off in London http://www.nyotaimori.co.uk
  22. I can't think of too many - wooden planks, and pieces of slate come to mind. Some of these are outrageous though: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3076033/Bring-plates-s-growing-trend-restaurants-serving-food-shovels-dustbin-lids-iPads-revolting-says-MATTHEW-BELL.html

    SNP

Hmm, well I think this 'sentiment' went a long way to win the Conservatives the election - nobody wanted to see the SNP running the country alongside Labour. I suspect the same sentiment could well translate into trade with England in the event of Scottish independence. Personally i'm quite happy for Scotland to devolve - or even secede, but whatever the outcome, it must not impact financially or unfairly on the rest of the country
