  1. Today was a trial run for setting up a registered shoot at Worsley. I know........I used to shoot there and got fed up with the lack of changes!! New lad setting up now and changing things...........Not me! Some great, technical presentations on today, with a few crossers needing a fair big gap!! If you are interested? It will be FIBRE only!!!! Peel holdings are very strict on that matter! Squads are 10.30am and 12.30pm Competition £40 Birds only £35 Deposit required to secure your slot of £10. Please call 07761409427 to book 👍👍
  2. It's a lovely ground with some great presentations. I try and do the odd registered there. There's not much of a club house. Small reception, small shop and plenty of seating outside! English Sporting clays filmed the british there on YouTube to give you an idea on what the ground looks like.
  3. Catton Hall Saturday practise resumes on the 23rd October! 👍👍
  4. Had an invite to join a buddy at Coniston! Not been in years and only just over an hour from Manchester. So why not! If you're into your training and not just doing a quick 50 birds. Highly recommended. From quick whippy quartering stuff in the woods, to opening out and shooting clays further out, below your feet, Off the tower. To then whizzing on the sportrap/compak for a right good challenge. Can see me nipping up there again 😁😁😁😁
  5. Think we may struggle for a while in the Northwest! My buddy is helping out at Worsley and has promised change as I was getting fed up with the lazy set up there 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Part of me hates shift work but the money is good, but I imagine if I was mon-fri then I'd be frustrated at attending busy grounds at weekends 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ if they aren't busy............I'd be asking questions 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 We have to take what we've got for now 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  6. Shot the comp there Sunday! No issues with traps or no birds. This is a activities venue. Not a dedicated clay ground although I massively appreciate the fact I can train on Wednesdays and Saturdays and shoot there registered comps. I'm a shift worker and glad I can shoot midweek. This post is biased as I like Catton and I know the family. They do attend registered shoots. The whole family pretty much shoot. He knows how annoying/frustrating broken traps and no birds can be.............We've shot kingsley moor (if you know......you know 😤🤦‍♂️) He doesn't want that reputation 🤔🤔 Next time you're up? Go and have a natter. They are all approachable 👍👍 Based in Manchester and its not like we're spoilt for choice in the Northwest for grounds unless you want to put the mileage in? Or find one that isn't busy on a Saturday when most people are off!!
  7. They advertise ABT on there website, worth enquiring if Michael might pop up the road to Coniston to teach? Surely there is no harm in asking?
  8. Try Micheal Meggison at Kelbrook shooting School
  9. Catton hall is a cracking place ran by the Mann family! I head over when I can and treat them as training days! Wednesday is by far the best day. Not many places where you get the variety below your feet. Plus you can get a stand virtually all to yourself to get your eye In without feeling rushed. Without sounding cheeky, I class the Wednesdays as a more senior shooters day 😁😁 £25/100 clays 👍👍👍
  10. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351253279248 Recently decided to play with a 34inch Summit Guerini. My has a 16inch lop. Its a tight fit 👍👍👍👍
  11. According to a buddy of mine that helped out at Owls hoot............there were issues with bills being paid! I've never been but he was a regular. Based in Manchester literally a couple of junctions down from Stockport! My go too practise clubs are Catton Hall and Mickley. Reg shoot on a Sunday if I'm not working! Bolton clays on east blancs Rixton east lancs Rishton blackburn Obviously Worsley A bit of travelling. But straightforward mostly motorway runs!
  12. Catton is as Westley says! It's a common sense approach. Stay clear or get them told if they get too close. Sanitizer everywhere 👍👍👍 Old Glossop is squadded Sportrap practise this Sunday with stringent measures in place and on 21st it will be there first squadded 100 bird event. I would imagine with the same stringent measures...............Stay in car until 5 minutes before your allotted shooting shooting time, head to waiting area and await member of staff! No hanging around, mingling or loitering. Get it shot and head home. Bearing in mind the public has a cracking view of Old Glossop shoot and I imagine wouldn't hesitate in reporting violations if seen. Measures in place to protect the shooters and more importantly......The club 👍👍
  13. I'm shielding and twitching to shoot. So chanced it and ventured out to Catton Hall! Nice to catch up with Josh and the rest of the Mann family. Wednesday kick off is 10.00am and fairly quiet until around 11.30/12 (weather was glorious though) This is a common sense approach set up. Don't get too close or tell people to ##$/ off if they do, if it gets too busy.........Go home etc Clubhouse only open for toilet facilities, book on via veranda and sanitizer on every station! I doubt it did much physically, maybe more mentally but I wore my Macwets for added protection! How versatile are foot peddle? Ie on report pairs
  14. Don't have a A400 but I do shoot on occasion a Fabarm XLR5 Velocity fully adjustable and I love it. Once you set it up right..........just leave it! Lloyd Pattison if i recall did a review of the Multi target on youtube 👍👍
  15. Well I'm on immunosuppression medication and I'm on the at risk group. I didn't play out Sunday and I've just cancelled my spot on a reg shoot Wednesday (That's if they remain open?) I'd love to support local business and remain shooting. But the risks are too high for me. Looks like I'll be fully stripping my guns and giving them a right clean for the time being 👍👍👍👍
  16. Been well over a year since I've been up there! Great place to learn consistency/focus on the dtl/skeet layouts. I found the compak and tower provided the tougher stuff! I generally stayed until I learned how to hit them consistently 👍👍
  17. We shall see later if it remains or mysteriously gets deleted! A lot of fans are "in the know" yet they aren't posting anything concrete either. What I've seen in defence of BH gets shot down with a logical counter arguement 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Would you voluntary go into a NDA to protect the NSCA with the effect its had? With questions being asked online and with his money........... Surely his lawyers would be working to that annulled so when can have the facts and the truth!!!! I love this sport! But the industry and sponsors need to do more reign in inappropriate behaviour no matter who you are!! Sponsored shooters have social media clauses in there contracts. Wonder if there's bullying and harassment too? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Cpsa has all its policies online 👍👍👍👍
  18. Just wondering where his top level support is? 🤔🤔
  19. Something is amiss! You only have to trawl through the threads on facebook and look at who's posting the "likes" on comments. None of it positive towards BH. But we are talking shooters who are predominantly in the magazines and are at the top winning trophies. Here and in the USA! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
  20. Would this NDA stop Ben becoming a NSCA member? or will it stop him competing at NSCA championships? Only asking as Will Fennel (krieghoff shooter) stated on a previous post Ben is no longer a member which I find odd if Ben had the upper hand with litigation!! Or was there say a compromise...........They had something on Ben/Ben had them on procedure? For one person that compromise hasn't worked! Still doesn't explain his sponsors are distancing themselves 🤔🤔🤔🤔
  21. Missing from the Fitasc sporting open at EJ Churchils too! Was squad 32 Wednesday 09.45
  22. Someone is now missing from the championships if you look!!
  23. I'll wait till I see something official. Could just be cpsa is slow at processing membership 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
