  1. Hi marsh man, I’d like this please if still for sale. How do you want payment. Cheers Jeremy
  2. I was tempted to slip that in, but thought you might be too embarrassed so I didn’t😗 Thats a really generous offer, thanks you very much indeed👍
  3. Morning, thanks again Mel for a really enjoyable day yesterday on a lovely farm. I hadn’t shot a husher before and didn’t realise how quiet they are. First shot of the day, pulled the trigger, heard a “phut” and thought oh no it’s a dud, then a crow fell out the sky👍 There was more than enough birds to keep me interested and the decoys worked well with some taking a wide detour round the field to come and have another look. I was pleased with a couple of the shots you saw but also missed a fair few. I think we picked 15 in total. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you as well, you’re a true countryman and very generous. I would really love to come out with you again. Cheers again Jeremy
  4. Absolutely no offence taken😊 I’ve never shot a hushpower before, I’m borrowing Mels. So that should be interesting. Got to try and source some 410 carts tomorrow, thought maybe Garlands? Sure after a couple of shots, you’ll be on target. Have a good day.
  5. I’ll have you know, we’re very well behaved and gentle folk in Rosliston😗 I did think at one point if I was ok to go as well and it was the same day we could have maybe shared the drive over. Hope you have a good day tomorrow, looks as though it’s going to be a hot one😎 cheers Jeremy
  6. Hi Mel, Just read your very generous offer. If you are still looking for another person, I would love to join you. I am retired and live in South Derbyshire, I think probably not far from Walker570. I am only available on Friday of this week, but normally am free most of the time. Thanks very much. BW Jeremy
  7. Oh ok, thanks. I’ll have a quick look tomorrow.
  8. I too found a chaffinch dead on the patio this afternoon. Looked in very good condition with no signs of disease, just wondered if it might have flown into the patio window.
  9. Thanks Wesley, I am the angler. We’re you the shooting coach?
  10. Thanks very much 7diaw. I did beat for the day just before Xmas so have already sampled the excellent hospitality.

    decoying kit

Hi, could I have the giant hold-all if still available and 12 flocked crow shells. Let me know about payment. JerryT
  16. Hi, got the feeling from a couple of replies that my comment "not great for decoying" meant we didn't have a good day. Bearing in mind, I am pretty inexperienced at pigeon shooting, I thought good decoying was when they floated in to the pattern one by one all day long. I now understand that getting them to come in and have a look is a result, which is what happened pretty much throughout. I saw and shot at more pigeon and crow than I have ever seen before, and the 200-300 pigeon that came down into the field as we were packing up was a revalation to me. Hope that clears things up, and thanks again Mark for your company and a great day.
  17. Was that the same field we shot on saturday, looks familiar. Good two hour session!
  18. Treated my son Daniel to a day out yesterday with John from Action Pigeon. He had been watching a field of drilled barley since Monday but by Friday pigeon seemed to have moved on. We decided to give it a try anyway as it's only a forty minute drive to Derby. John set us up with a flapper, a few dead pigeon, a floater and a couple of crows, and although there was very little on the field when we arrived, before long a few pigeon started to come in for a look. We were on a bit of a flightline and some were coming in to look at the pattern, but others were landing in trees at the corner of the field. After a few hours John decided we might do better moving the hide more to the corner of the field, which made a big difference as we were then able to shoot behind the trees as well. It was Daniel's first go at pigeon, and he ended up with four and a crow and I shot four as well. We could of and should have shot a lot more, but they lived to fight another day. Thanks John from both of us for making a great day out, and to Jena for retrieving one pigeon which must have finally come down a good three hundred yards from the hide. 19. Does'nt work for me either, don't know what went wrong. Try again tomorrow.
  20. Hi all, I was lucky member who got to go out with Mark yesterday on a lovely perm he has in Warwickshire. A bit of an overcast and windy day, not great for decoying. But there was a steady stream of crows in the morning, followed by pigeon in the afternoon. We stuck with the decoys until mid afternoon, then tried our luck flightlining from a wood which added a few more to the bag. Ended the day with about 25 crows/jackdaws and pigeons. Mark shot the lions share but I made a small contribution to the bag and shot my first crow. Big thank you to Mark for the day, and for trying to sort my appalling shot to kill ratio. Also, to Mark's young son who is the most awesome retriever I have seen, better than any gun dog. [url=http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/JerryT3/media/IMG_0361_zps35cdc3c8.jpg.html] Cheers
  21. Now I'm a bit worried, might dig my tango one out for the day. See what the pigeon think of that.
