    Rewilding

There is 8 billion people and not that many bears. Human type creatures have been living in Britain off and on for the last 800,000 years. All that time we rubbed alongside other predators. Its only been 500 years since the last wolf went, maybe 1500 since the bear got hunted out. 70% of british biodiversity has been destroyed this last century. So long as its not forced on rural communities and they are properly compensated in the long term, proportionate, well considered rewilding on marginal land, can only be a good thing for British biodiversity. I wouldnt imagine there are any serious schemes suggesting introducing bears or lynx. The newspapers are scaremongering about rewilding - they would be better off addressing food security in this country - the government are importing low welfare, unsustainable foreign government subsidised food into the UK, seriously undercutting and threatening british agriculture. Just to keep food prices low for the largely urban electorate. We export almost identical amounts of all produce as we import. 60% of farms in Wales for sale last year - were sold to non farmers - that says to me the city corporations and industrial agriculture are buying up rural communities and traditional farms. That is what people should be concerned about.
  2. The originals are tasty, but its weird, the vegetarian Richmonds taste exactly the same.
  3. 308 Sako 75 Stainless please. Ideally a lightly used example but all conditions considered.
  4. Hi Could you meet in Chester please or that too far away. I’m in mid wales. Or you would be willing to post these please. Parcel woujd be about 5kg. I would really like to in buy them as they are just what I am after. I think you can print out the label at home and then just drop it off at the parcel shop. They might even collect it. Cheers
  5. i use the copper coin method too. It works very well. Brass brush on dremal gently applied if very rusted but with lots of surviving blue.
  6. There were some PH's that had detachable magazines, not sure if they would be compatible with your 1200. There is a gunsmith called Norman Clark who bought up all the PH stock. He may well be able to advise.

Depending on your stance on the reality of climate change. It was a bit bullish by the UK government to lean on the Met to arrest Greta Thunberg......Bearing in mind Ritchie Sunak our glorious unelected prime ministers Indian family firm has just profited to the extent of 1.5 billion from the UK releasing 125 new fossil fuel extraction licences. Google it....all the info is plain to see.
  8. Wanted 308 Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic - All conditions considered.
  9. Hi, I was in the process of buying a rifle from POE34. What happened with him ? He had gone a bit quiet but I didn’t get bad vibes or demands to pay before I collected it. He seemed genuine and sent pics of the rifle with my username and the date. Could anyone elaborate why he was banned please and has had Scammer added to his username. Best Regards
  10. Did they mention 410 by any chance ?
  11. Wanted 308 Sako stainless synthetic sporter please. Will also consider cheap shot out example in need of rebarrel in both Varmint and Sporter barrels. Cheers
  12. Welcome to the forum and greetings from Wales. Tbh the Bsa is a fairly uncommon gun over here too. Many of them ended up with 23" barrels from the factory and so fell foul of the 1968 gun laws act that required a minimum 24" barrel length. The Bsa official factory sporting .410 conversions are single shot unless you have found a converted military SMLE. Some military spec 410's were official conversions for foraging and guard duty in regions where the locals would kidnap guards for their rifles, others were smoothbored as cheap shotguns and curiosities after the war up until the 1980's.
  13. Its interesting how everyones experiences are different, I once travelled from mid wales to buy a rifle from The Countryman. Unfortunately in the advert he had made a mistake about the model. When I pointed this out, he apologised and immeadiately offered a large discount on the rifle, which I then bought. He told me he had sold the rifle to a customer, who had had a trigger job done, then shortly after retired from shooting and that it was a very accurate rifle. And indeed it was.
  14. Possibly may be water draining into the planting hole if clayey ground, or maybe rootbound. Has it got dead patches on foliage ?
