  1. I am not completely anti electric collar for major problems, and they have their uses in the right hands for dogs of a certain personality. You have described a promising, quick learning gundog. To us humans it's a disgusting habit, to dogs it's no big deal. The E collar could possibly cause other issues with his progress in an attempt to cure what is really just a misdemeanour that he will probably grow out of.
  2. I had a pup with similar copraphagic issues. I was concerned that there was something lacking in her diet, but this wasn't the case, it was more a habit which she later stopped. I did read, and I can't remember where, that if you coat/spray an inviting stool with chilli powder/sauce and allow the puppy to have a feed. The result should create the necessary aversion. I personally have not used this method and am unable to say if it is successful, but best of luck. If everything fails just buy the pup a pack of extra strong mints, at least the breath won't smell as bad.
  3. It makes little difference whether people believe he has paid the penalty for his crime and should now have the right to work in his chosen profession. There are no legal barriers to his working as a professional footballer. This is all about money and sponsorship. If your sponsor threatens to withdraw and you want to pay the wages at the club you don't sign a convicted rapist, it doesn't matter how talented he may be.
  4. It's always interesting to see how much of the money gets directly to the cause, and is not swallowed up by administration and wages. I recall a few years ago a work colleague was accompanying his wife to her works Christmas party. It was to be held at a large well known hotel in London, everything was paid for, including travel expenses. His wife worked for an animal charity, and I pointed out that the cost of this annual bash was being paid for by the volunteers giving up their free time rattling tins, and old ladies leaving their savings in the belief that they are giving some old cat or dog a home for life. Charity is unfortunately big business.
  5. Beware of bolting it under the stairs. I note that you say that your gas meter is there. I had contemplated siting a cabinet in the same location in my house, however recent building work revealed an assorted tangle of gas pipes, a water pipe and electric cables hidden behind a thin layer of plaster in quite a small area.
  6. They have been referred to the IPCC for not fully investigating allegations of sexual offences involving young victims. They are not accused of sexual offences, as this would be a matter for the Police to investigate.
  7. I think that the chap in the first video is a member of the extended Qatari royal family. So the comments about deep pockets are right, very deep pockets.
  8. The U.k. allows entry to all sorts of people. This includes former child soldiers from African war zones, who have committed unspeakable acts. They are children and young people, some of whom have been the victims of indoctrination and brainwashing. Every case must be taken on its own merits, but I believe it is too simplistic to just say that they cannot return.
  9. A chip can migrate and end up in a different part of the body. It can also be pushed right out. I had a lurcher who was re-chipped twice. I have a similar issue with one of my current dogs, strangely a similarly bred lurcher, whereby the chip has moved from between the shoulder blades down one of the shoulders. I always have the vet check whenever I visit to ensure they are still present. Ear tattooing seems to be a viable option for short coated dogs, but I'd have a hell of a job with my hairy eared springer
  10. Sprinkle some grain on the floor of the cage, and I've found a piece of sausage as the main bait was quite effective. The siting of the trap is more important, I believe, than the bait.
  11. Catton Hall, Frodsham is open on Wednesdays for practice from 10.30am.
  12. I've just finished watching the game and saw the references to national pride. The team this World Cup are just not good enough. Somebody referred the Queen as Her Royal Highness. She ceased to be HRH on the death of her father. She is Her Majesty. Sorry to be pedantic, just the ramblings of a patriotic football fan.
  13. The Police were made aware of issues with this individual prior to the murders. In the U.K. this would have resulted in him having his firearms taken from him, however 'the right to bear arms' appears to cause such problems in many states of the U.S. Anyone bent on destruction will do so by any means, but the access to firearms make if so much easier and a greater danger to those who may cross the offender. I personally favour the strict gun measures in the U.K.
  14. It may surprise some on here to know that people are sometimes less than honest, and will on occasions provide false details to the Police. I believe if you are reasonable with people they will treat you the same way.
  15. I had a Disco 3 done a few years ago. Prior to having it done I contacted my insurance company who informed me that they would not insure me. The insurance company is one of the larger established ones. My age and occupation should have been in my favour, but I had to explain that it was purely to improve the vehicle's towing ability. I was contacted the following day and informed that having considered all the information they would continue to insure me. I had to forward a copy of the remap details provided by the motor tuner to them. I was left with the impression that had I been younger with a sporty saloon they would not have even considered it. On the plus side the car did perform better after the remap.
  16. Twenty years ago the World Cup was a tournament of the best teams in the world. Now that money buys the best players from around the world you can watch top international talent play good football every week with the Premiership. Teams like Man.City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man. United, well maybe not the last one, but you see what I mean.
  17. I think it is dependant on so many factors. If she is a young child with a 'Bambi' and fluffy bunny outlook, ignorance is bliss. If she's older with a more open mind maybe ask if she enjoyed just one of the specific meals. Tell her what it was and test the reaction. If it's positive tell her that it was all venison, and better than an equine ready meal from a supermarket.
  18. Parapilot, you've been given the benefit of a course, and pose the question should you inform your insurance company. You have been neither charged, reported for summons or cautioned. I can personally see no reason to inform them because you are technically not guilty of any offence.
  19. I've been hitting them recently with the silenced 410 from the Landrover at night. They always appear more confident at night, only problem being that too much lamping or vehicle noise seems to educate them after a short time. Unfortunately I don't have FAC with NV, which would to be the best option.
  20. If your dog will eat it raw, feed it raw. The bones are only a problem when they've been cooked. A precaution I do take is to freeze the rabbits first to sort out any worm cysts that may be present in the muscle.
  21. None yet, but this has been a short season. No real frosts, the cover is still so thick and not that many about on my ground.
  22. I have received the book, and I did miss the post. Pm sent to JDog
