  1. Folk from Hodnet always were a bit queer. A Shropshire Lad
  2. Thank you very much. I will try the 28 gm subsonic and the Comp X 21 gm. I have a Silver Pigeon Deluxe which comes with a stupid pad on it. I think I will have that replaced too. Meanwhile than you all for the advice.
  3. Does anyone have long term experience of using 21 gm low recoil cartridges for clays? My instructor has recommended Comp X, especially when shooting 100+ cartridges per day, but friend suggest that I should go for a 24 gm load or stick with the 28 gm that I have been using for ages. Any thoughts?
  4. Bought a second-hand AYA Yeoman 35 years ago for £200 and it is worth about the same now. Never had any problem with it at all, except it keeps on missing high and fast pheasants for some strange reason..........
  5. Is there anybody out there who is a responsible BASC member with a sense of fun who is prepared to help set up a syndicate (initially of 4 or 5) in the Surrey/Kent area, including finding the land? It should be possible for very little money to establish a rough shoot and to later put down some birds if we are prepared to put in the work and money. If so, PM me with your details, including phone number, and I will get back to you.
  6. On the Hill. Have just returned to 12 bore after a break of 15 years and I have just started on clays (because I cannot find any good rough shooting near me) but been used to rough and game shooting for the past 35+ years. Have decided to buy a Silver Pigeon 5 if I can find one for a left handed shooter and notice that they are quite popular on this site.
  7. Am pleased to be able to join everyone from Caterham, Surrey. This is a great site with really useful and helpful information on it. Rab
