    Pickup item

Not advertising, and have nothing to do with the company, but I'm having a package delivered that is 152x15x54cm and it weighs 29kg. The cost is £27 and that is with Interparcel. There are many other couriers too. So your companion set shouldn't be £45.

    Case Trimmer

Hi all, my Lyman trimmer gave upon me tonight, well actually a spring and ball bearing came out and vanished between the floor boards. As they are over 200yrs old, I'd rather leave them be. So has anyone got a trimmer about they would like to move on. Thought I'd ask before I buy new,TIA for any replies.
  4. Can't beat thick sliced cold beef with sea salt on it, mind you that's my taste.
  5. Natural reaction though isn't it. see something out of the corner of your eye and you try to take avoiding action. Not saying it's right though just natural. Try ignoring a Badger on a Motor bike I know who'll come off worse.Come off being the operative word here. lol ( and I know first hand).

    Echo Chainsaw

Thanks for the replies so far guys, i Have a chance of getting a fair bit of Ash from a local tree surgeon who is cutting Ash die back for the NT. he'll have lots he doesn't want to bother with. So basically It'll be used for rings for firewood. I have an old Stihl 028 wood boss I think it is but always a pain to start so thought I'd go new.

  16. Thanks oowee, I'll remember that if I fail miserably.
  17. oowee, I remember the thread, on another forum, as I read it at the time you were asking. I fancy using vhit 160 as I have a lot of that, that I reload a .270 with.
  18. Hi All, I'm not looking for grief, or other bullets etc but can anyone with better knowledge than me about this bullet shed light please. I've been using Sierra 85gr hpbt gamekings with great affect on the Roe and have a cracking load for this out of my Howa 243. Meat damage is plenty enough on the far side with boiler room shots, so thought I'd try the above and run it as slow as I could, but fast enough to let it open up as it should and do it's job. Am I looking for the Holy Grail, probably! 243's are fast anyway, but has anyone any info on, or experience with these please. I have steered clear of head and neck shooting for my own personal reasons, and although consider myself well able too as I do on other quarry, don't want to start on the Deer. Many thanks for any replies.
  19. Go on then I'll have that as I'm lazy lol.
  20. Yes taking it off put the light out ( I'm no mechanic mind, didn't want to do damage for the bit of fuel I thought I would save)
  21. Blanked mine off on my 57 plate, ok for a short while and then the engine management came on and had to take it off again.
  22. That's very similar to the defensive riding we are taught when riding a bike. on a bit from the test.
  23. When us dinosaurs were taught to drive, it was use the engine revs and gears to slow down. Now you have a go pedal and a stop pedal and the more you press either of them affects the speed you go or stop.
  24. The post above the post above is spot on. I've been very lucky in my lettings. I spent seven months doing up our old cottage top to bottom stripped everything back to the stone walls. New everything, but it was the best part of 300yrs old and needed it. I must add that I have been building for the last 50 yrs so I didn't have to pay builders to do the work, and also the mortgage was paid off. We decided to go through an agent and he had an open house period. we had eight couples look the first day and they all wanted it so it went down to who he/ and we liked the most. I went with him managing it as we have a few more securities than trying to do it ourselves' It went to a young professional couple who wanted to live out in the country, and want to stay a long time on a rollover once their let is up. Where we are at the moment is another 300 yr old place with an annexe which we ran as an air b&b. but with the present situation didn't want people coming in from all over, and with the strict cleaning rules made it very labour intensive. So got back in touch with the agent and he did the same again with another open day. It went to a single young lady who has just come up from down south to head up a company for a year. I can't comprehend The amount of money people pay out in rent these days, If it were me I'd have to be paying for something that I was going to own one day, not putting it in someone else's account, I don't know their situation of course but then again I'm retired now and have no mortgages so am not in the real world. Thinking of the ops original post I suppose this hasn't helped a bit. As stated before if it's done to a really good standard you'll hopefully get people who respect that and look after it. As they say it's your choice, ours worked out very well for us. Good luck in whatever you decide,
