Good evening all. I have just moved back permanently to Somerset after many years away in the 'badlands' of the Southeast. How wonderful it is to be back home again! I am hoping to find some beating for the forthcoming season in the Bridgwater/Taunton/Wellington area, the Quantocks or Exmoor, or within a reasonable travelling distance. I have been beating for many years on pheasant/partridge and driven duck shoots and am fully insured. Regrettably, due to work committments, I am currently only available for Saturdays, but ,if anyone is looking to recruit new gang members, I would be delighted to hear from you. Best wishes to all.

I was estate manager, looking after the island infrastructure, cattle, running the portering team etc.Wonderful lifestyle but incredibly hard work and long hours, especially in peak tourist season.Place was alive with rabbits, pigeon, pheasant and partridge - no ground predators but gulls and ravens a nuisance!

Would still be there if I had not needed to come back to UK mainland to look after elderly parents.Lucky you - shooting and sea fishing out of this World! Only drawbacks that wildfowling, rim fires and any Sunday shooting not permitted if I remember correctly, unless this has changed? Anyway, once again, welcome

Hi all - I have a lovely Charles Lancaster hammergun and am trying to discover its provenance. Does anyone out there know who now has the Charles Lancaster records as the address details I found on google appear to be out of date. I have had no replies to my emails and the given phone number is now out of use! The address given was in Sussex and I just wondered if the records have now passed to another company. Any advice or leads would be most gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hi All New to pigeonwatch so hello to everyone. Have been shooting for a while now, but, due to working abroad for a few years, very out of touch, although keen to get back into it! Have a passion for pothunting as well as pest/vermin control with shotgun and rimfire. Also enjoy using vintage hammerguns and a spot of muzzle loading now and again! Other hobbies include gardening, riverfishing for chub/barbel, beekeeping and mucking about with vintage military vehicles - anything that keeps me outside in the fresh air! looking forward to exchanging gossip and ideas with other members.
