  1. Hows it going dekers Im only after noticing that the stainless blast plate and honeycomb shaped piece threads out.....can you change this piece to the .22 cal insert or do you have to buy the whole top piece of the mod?? Hey there jeff,as i mentioned above to dekers do you know if that stainless blast plate section can be just changed from a .308 to the .22 sized piece??If it can that would be fairly handy as the .22 cal insert is listed on the uk custom shops web page at 55 pound which sounsa reasonable enough
  2. Hey all my question is this- I recently bought a p8 moderator and use it on my tikka 223 i ordered the up to 243 model but ended up with the up to .308 baffel model the guy in the shop gave me a very good price for the mod so i bought it,my question is would the mod be much quieter with the smaller diameter baffles or would i be better off keeping my £100 and just use the baffel set that i have at the moment-is there much sound difference using the 223 in a 308 sized hole as opposed to the .243 one??
  3. Ozzy i have practicly the same gun a 917vs the bolt aint the most smooth but its seriously accurate so it doesnt bother me!The one mod that id recomend is a rifle-basix trigger it really sweetens the trigger pull and there not expensive
  4. Amazing pictures that man has some skill
  5. Very nice springer Fairly well developed for a 4 month old!
  6. Seriously good pictures there The fox creeping towards the deer seems to be a very dark colour.
  7. Any stainless barrel will rust if it comes into contact with mild-steel.The mild-steel contaminates the stainless it can happen if your barrel gets scratched by a fence or railing/gate ect-you can easily buff the rust or marks on the barrel out with a product called scotch-brite.
  8. Mine has cycled 28gram shells to 63gramm shells and everything in between 100% flawlessly The aqua tec coating is very good at keeping rust at bay once your careful with the gun-not banging the metal parts off stones ect it wont scratch. As for weight mine a 30" model feels lighter and more balanced than my old al391. I use mine a good bit for walked up game shooting when the weather's too **** to bring my silver pigeon i would cover a long distance walking and i wouldnt find it a whole lot heavier than the silver pigeon.
  9. Thats one serious looking jeep...and such ground clearance Id kill for a little jeep like that Is there much work done to it to raise it so much???
  10. Excellent pics and very productive results from the pheasant carcass's

  13. That was great fieldcraft to keep the fox occupied long enough for the shot By the sounds of the time-4.30pm was the fox always appearing around dusk or did you see him going through the garden earlier in the day?
  14. Thats excellent shooting Really looks to be a good covering of snow over there-there wasnt any amount worth talking about here in Ireland but i do hope we get a bit over the hols Just out of intrest were all the pheasants black neck's?
  15. Good stuff hopefully you have a bit of luck saturday morn...do take pic's if you get lucky We have not had any snow in my area yet hopefully we do,you cant beat the feeling of getting out with the gun on a snowy morn Merry Xmas to you too Jeff
  16. Excellent write up,really enjoyed reading that Fair play to you for continuing shooting after the rifle broke your nose!
  17. That is a tragedy mm it really is very sorry to hear that...to loose a good mate and having your gun destroyed aswell, but least your gun could be replaced Dont think jeff would give up the deer stalking and shooting with the nv that easy! Come to think of it i do miss jeffs write-ups about the trips out with the 243 and archer! Cheers rob The dark wood is nice alright  Hi peter I got the gun fitted by a lad in mountnugent in Cavan he really knows his stuff when it comes to clay shooting and gun fit While i was in with him a lad arrived that was after traveling from clifden to try and check the gun fit on a perazzi he was after buying.People come from all over to him-that says a lot about the man. If your gun has to be cast or the stock dropped or raised you will have to leave the gun with him because i dont think he does it inhouse, thats the joy of an adjustable stock its very easy to set the gun up to your eyes. If ya need any more info peter just drop me a pm
  18. Thanks bb :o Yup it was fairly stressful-45 pages of forms to fill in then 4 months of waiting then had to pay €400 for the renewals!Least its done and dusted for another 3 years.Btw i had to wait a year for my 1st rifle licence Your more than welcome back mate anytime you want You can send me over instructions on how you go about shooting clays! I had mine out on the 1st day of the season over here its the 1st of november,i shot two cock pheasants and a woodcock with it...its not a bad gun to use when theres a lot of walking involved there actually not that heavy of a gun for the size of them. Will you get out at all over the christmas hols do you think??
  19. So thats your 682 glensman! Looks like you put it to good use...some tricky shooting at bolting rabbits!
