  1. I would go with 00530 as well. The bit after the decimal isn't usually read I don't think.
  2. BASC's latest magazine says not to comply on page 103.

According to http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/incometax/tax-free-interest.htm you can only claim back to the 2009-2010 tax year :(
  4. Can the OP not use the shotguns as long as it's less than 72 hours? I think I remember this as the limit before which you had to sign it onto a certificate.
  5. I might visit Oak Lodge the week after then. When does it open on a Wednesday? I was under the impression it was only open Wednesday evenings and Sunday noon ish.
  6. Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence! What's wrong with skeet? I quite like repetitive/boring! I'm not quite good enough for sporting yet.
  7. Hi, Sorry to resurrect a thread but I'll try and head to Thimbleby this coming Wednesday. If there are any others out on day release, it would nice to say hello. I'll be the one trying to shoot skeet.
  8. Is he referring to DSC1? Some police forces will not issue a CF/suitable calibre for deer unless you have prior experience/DSC1.
  9. Is the 2 a poorly stamped 7? Either way, the pressure meets CIP standards for HP steel. If you're using commercial loads, this won't be a problem.
  10. Maybe they need the cash to pay off dodgy business dealings in China? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23430022 Edit: Beaten to it!
  11. Looks like the original report of 100mS was because the equipment couldn't measure any higher value! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-23918882
  12. Check the tub - it should mention a withdrawal period. If it's nil then you can eat the eggs while they're being fed on the treated pellets.

Kes - Point(s) taken. My reply wasn't a personal attack. I'm just trying to say that no government is perfect but when they fail (or when something can be improved), it has to be highlighted and put right. Much as you exemplified with the Tube incident.

What if the illegally obtained information exposes a crime that was covered up? E.g. Bradley Manning releasing video footage of American forces killing innocent civilians, Snowden highlighting US and UK collecting data without warrants, Americans bugging EU offices, etc Would these be the same secret services that helped topple a democratically elected government in Iran because they nationalised British oil assets? Collusion in Northern Ireland?
  15. Scottish and Irish notes are not "legal tender" in England or Wales. http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/Pages/about/faqs.aspx#16 However, "legal tender" has a narrow definition relating to the settlement of debts. The point is, a proprietor can be stubborn and refuse service/payment. I should point out that Sterling issued by Irish and Scottish banks are every bit as good: they're backed by BoE-issued sterling. I.e. a Scottish/Irish bank has to deposit at least the same value of BoE-issued Sterling with the central bank before it can start printing its own notes.
  16. There's a flow chart in http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/pdfs/wildgameguide0611.pdf which should help. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/shooting-standards/basc-training-courses/wild-game-meat-hygiene-level-2-fsa-training-dates-venues.cfm might be applicable?
  17. Thanks everyone. I'll try to visit each one at some point to see which takes my fancy/has the fewest nutters Out of interest, has anyone any info/opinions on Cleveland gun club? I think I saw it listed on the CPSA website.
  18. Sorry, I didn't specify. I'll be in/around Redcar so anywhere within a stone's throw of Boro would be nice.
  19. Can someone edit the title of the thread? The adverts are anti-illegal immigration not anti-immigration: there is a difference.
  20. Hi, I'll be moving home in a month or two and was wondering if people could recommend (a) clay ground(s) in the vicinity? The nearest seem to be out towards Durham or York.
  21. Probably a typo. Adblock ?
  22. Finished school and dossed around for the holidays. Went on to do my A-levels as I didn't know what vocation I wanted. Then I went to uni because that's what everyone else did. Wanted to drop it all after 2nd year (didn't enjoy it) but thought I'd finish since I racked up so much on student loans To top it all off, I started a PhD 3 years ago because I still didn't know what I wanted to do... Suggestions on the back of a postcard anyone?
  23. Hi, I think I'm dragging this thread away from the topic. Happy to continue the discussion via private message I'll send something in a few minutes.
  24. If we had to have a referendum on everything that went through Parliament, we'd never get anywhere! We delegate decisions to Government because we expect them to make the right choices for us. We vote them in at elections and we get rid of them if/when they fail to deliver (usually when). It's not a perfect system but it works most of the time
