Thanks,we couldn't see branches but as the light was fading the birds were silhouettes so small branches might not have shown up.Wheres the place on the back,I understood the best spot was on the side of the breast?

We were out trying to shoot some woodys this pm through the trees and although we seemed to have good shots on them they flew away apparently unhit.I was wondering if we had hit them would they show any effects of it.We think our pellets were deflected by branches but were worried we might have hit without killing.The birds flew off the same as the surrounding ones.

Thanks chaps.While we were out yesterday a friend of ours was questioning why we were hunting "the poor little pigeons".I think she changed her mind when I asked if she felt the same about fishing(No) and pointed out that it was no different to going fishing.In fact she felt it was less cruel than pulling a fish out of the water with a hook in its mouth.So if u get any hassle ,ask them if they challenge fishermen as well and if not ,why not.

Whats the actual law in England on taking Collared Doves as a mate of mine who shoots thinks its illegal.They sure make easy targets around here,just sitting on phone posts.Simon.
