  1. Well it's been nearly a year since my little Mussy passed away and a text from the farmer telling me to have a go at the woodies. "the front field is blue" (usual pinch of salt applied) there were hundreds when I pulled up at 4pm Ended up with 58 picked and three in the still standing Barley, was a hell of a lot easier with the dog God bless him. Regards Smokey
  2. A great afternoon spent decoying over barley stubble with my mate Muswell (he's the Cocker by the way ) We got soaked to the bone one minute and sunburnt the next. 37 shot and 37 picked, Happy Days http://youtu.be/dPmJQ-Hy0uQ Smokey

    102

Smiling ear to ear, 102 this afternoon over barley stubble with a very good friend sharing the hide. The strong winds made for some great birds, I watched one fly 50 odd meters above the hide only for it to fold and rocket down into the pattern (I must get a video camera ) I don't think anything is quite as nerve racking as watching a distant bird turn, whilst you watch and start moving half way out of your seat , it's the one, it's coming, fully committed. Happy Happy Day's . Smokey

  7. Shooting rabbits over Cocker Spaniels on the North Yorkshire Moors, does it get any better ? When Maesydderwen Cockers Peter Jones is handling the dogs and Darren Skidmore of MoelFamau Cockers is at one with the wand, I don't think it does. I had a amazing day and learnt a great deal, without even getting one of mine out for a run (saving myself from embarrassment) Smokey

  9. That might well be the problem, I will file them first if they need it. Anyone know where abouts I can get some non plastic cradle jobs ? Smokey
  10. Cheers for that, I will have a look at them this weekend and see if the magnet arms need filing down a bit. Smokey
  11. What do you guys use ? I have a pair of hyper flappers out on the magnet this afternoon and swapped them over for two fresh shot pigeons on them bouncer cradle things, problem was they kept twisting and at one point even came off. The fresh birds did seem to pull them in a bit more but I wasted a lot of time trying to sort them out on the cradles. Any ideas ? Cheers Smokey
