  1. The tanning kit I mentioned is out of stock at the moment. It's worth buying though as it's very easy to use.
  2. I use CPO502 tanning kit from Snowdonia Taxidermy Supplies to do Fox/Squirrel tails and Rabbit pelts. I haven't tried a full size fox pelt as yet. It's very easy to use too.
  3. UPDATE: We've just tried our dog on the Dr Johns kibble and she wolfed it down. Hopefully, she will continue to enjoy it, although to be fair, she has never been a fussy eater.
  4. My dog is not a working dog, although she is very energetic and has plenty of exercise. We are going to try her on roughly the same amount of food, and maybe, cut back a bit owing to it containing more protein etc.
  5. Yes, but advised not to bother as they are not good quality. This came from a retailer who was selling them and had many complaints from his customers who bought one. I personally can't speak for them though. The flapper I have at the moment has an intermittent timer on it. It flaps 14 times and then stops for approx' 6 seconds. It's used on Corvids - mainly Jackdaws, and has proved to be deadly. I can also fit a 'dimmer' designed for 12v lighting and this allows me to slow down the flapping speed. The slight downside is that it draws power off the battery, but I use a 12v 10Amp hr battery which lasts many hours.
  6. Does anyone own the above flapper, and if so, what's your option on it? I've got a basic flapper which I use for Corvids but would like another one to place elsewhere in the field. It would be used 99% of the time for Corvids as there's not many pigeons about in my area. But I like the idea of a remote/timer etc. It's priced at £190 inc postage, or I could just buy another basic, but good flapper from A1 Decoys, priced at under £90.
  7. I've just received my 15kg bag of Dr John's Platinum. I was surprised to find that there were no suggested feeding amounts on the bag. When I've used John Burns, there was/is a chart that suggests how much per kg dog weight to give to your dog. For example, John Burn suggests 10 gram per kilo of weight. My Cockapoo bitch is 13kg, so how much Dr John's do I give her? UPDATE: There was a 'bag in a bag' with suggested feeding amounts.
  8. 10 out of 10. This is the first time that the sweet chestnuts have germinated. I did nothing different when planting them last year. The Oak will be given away free to anyone who wants it, and the Horse Chestnut which is 3 years old will (hopefully) go one of my permissions where I may be able to see it grow. I've also got some Oaks growing but they have only just started to push through the soil. If there's anyone on here that would like some of the sweet chestnuts, let me know. All I ask is that the postage is covered.
  9. These are some of the latest saplings that I planted last year, and will be handed out later this year for replanting. One sapling is 2 years old and the other is 3 years old. What are they?
  10. According to the Hodgdon chart link I sent you, you can safely start with 34.1. Even their recommended max' load is safe, although I have never done this.
  11. Titanic (the captain) Lord of the Rings
  12. Take a look at this. https://hodgdonreloading.com/rldc/?t=1 ( 34 - 37 grns)
  13. The above gentleman has sadly passed away, aged 79.
  14. I've just ordered a 15kg bag of Dr Johns Platinum. It's not so much as me saving money, but more of paying too much for almost the same thing. Anyway, I'll try my dog on this, and if I noticed any difference with her poo ( runny etc) after allowing her stomach time to adjust, then I'll stick with John Burns.
  15. I used to own one of the above seats, but it was difficult, even with two people, to fit the sections together, never mind on my own. So I sold it. Is there any way that the sections could be fitted (welded I suppose) with hinges, so that it could fold down on itself etc?
  16. Out of interest, is there anyone on here, or knows someone, who collects the above Games?
  17. The rifle has been reduced to £400 and the moderator to £50 (£450 total if sold together) + £45 RFD-RFD if required. No other reduction will be offered. This really is a superb and very accurate rifle. I need room in my cabinet.
  18. I remember my first air rifle (Relum Tornado in .22 calibre) and a 'top quality' 4x32 scope.
  19. These I made are very effective, and cost very little to make.
  20. I am reluctantly selling the above rifle due to lack of use and cabinet space needed. This is a superb, very accurate rifle and I have fitted the magazine conversion kit to allow a drop box magazine to be used. It's threaded and is in excellent condition with no marks etc. I have used this for Corvid (ground feeding) control at ranges out to 375 yards and it's superb. it can certainly outshoot me! Price is £500 collected from Mid Glamorgan (CF39) area or I can arrange a RFD-RFD transfer for an extra £45 which is what my RFD charges. The rifle will not include the moderator, scope and bipod, but I'm happy to include the moderator for an extra £100. If face to face, I will include some home loads that I have tailored to work perfectly with this rifle.
