  1. The Lanber, in my opinion, is an excellent shotgun. I have had mine for 12 years, and not had any problems. I think they now carry a 5 year guarantee.
  2. I use the 62gr in 243. Not shot any quarry yet, but hope to soon. Used in the USA for prarie dog/rock chuck, and for Coyote. My mate bulletboy shot a crow last Friday and, apart from a little blood under the wing, no other damage could be seen. There is also a 55gr bullet for 22.250.
  3. I used an old wiper motor years ago to make my rota. For the arm (only used one) I used a piece of flat aluminium that was bolted onto the motor via the threaded end. I used a pigeon decoy that had a bolt through it (crude I know) and this was bolted to the arm. The motor was attached to a steel rod by some large jubilee clips. It worked well, but I ended up buying the whole kit at the gamefair last year. Steve
  4. I've been told that once a shotgun is classed as FAC, then it remains the same even if it is altered to fire 3 shots. I may be wrong though. Give your local RFD and/or FEO a bell and ask their advice.
  5. Had a restless night last night, and woke up at 4.30am. Forgot to put the clock forward so it was 5.30 am. Spur of the moment, I decided to take a trip up to my local permission to see if there were crows about. The weather was brilliant and I set up my hide against a dry stone wall with the sun at my back. I put some decoys out and called with my Primos power crow call. Within 5 minutes, a crow appeared, and number 1 was in the bag! As with last Friday's shoot, most of the crows were over the other valley, about half a mile away. I fired a shot at their direction, and they lifted and flew towards me. I repeated this at least six times and managed to shoot 11. I could only find 7 as the other 4 landed in the tall grassy bog area down to my left. I also missed quite a few. I spent about 4 hours up there and enjoyed my morning out. There are many crows up there, and I hope to repeat this again soon.
  6. Stick to our sponsors. They may not always be the cheapest, but you will get value for money and a great after sales service.
  7. Like most meat, pigeon will suffer from 'freezer burn' if left for too long. Wrapping them in foil/clingfilm and paper, then placing them in a few layers of carrier bags should help protect them for longer.
  8. Some American companies advertising on evilbay, will sell to you 'outside' this site. It may be against the site's rules, but it wouldn't bother me.
  9. I've got a batch of the horse hoof bait. I made it about 7 months ago, and it really stinks. I tried it out one evening, but no foxes came to it. I believe that there were no foxes about that evening though. I'm going to try it soon, in a field where there are lambs. I'm going to use it in conjunction with my Cobra Merlin NV.
  10. It depends on your police force. Mine, many years ago, only took 4 days after the visit.
  11. Yes. Decoys, hide poles and net should be your starter. Build up your kit as you go along. Bouncers are a good buy.
  12. It's a good value gun for the money. I have the FAC version and have not had any problems.
  13. I had a Hawke Endurance scope on mine. There are plenty to choose from and you get up to a 10 year guarantee on them.
  14. A mate of mine said that if you leave a vehicle for a long period of time, removing the earth lead from the terminal will stop the battery going flat. Is this true? Cheers Steve
  15. Hi Dave. Welcome to PW mate. No more lurking for you!
  16. What an idiot. Reminds me of when I was working in a factory years ago. I was talking about clay pigeon shooting, and a girl came up to me and asked 'what do they taste like'. She was serious!
