Using a moderator does not affect accuracy if fitted correcty. If a rifle is sighted in with a moderator attached, there is a possibility that if you shoot the rifle without the mod' it could affect accuracy owing to the different weight and balance. I have used mod's on all my rifles for many years without any problems. EDIT. My point is/was that if you have a moderator on a rifle, then leave it on all the time!

Welcome to PW.

You should have no problems if you apply for a .22 LR or 17 HMR. After you have them, wait a few months then apply for a centerfire like 22-250. Good Luck

I have use the Winchester 40gr sub-sonic ammo for many years now. It's good stuff. Excellent for rabbits, crows etc

Why is it that when I log onto the PW Arms link, I get nothing on my screen. Anyone else come across this problem?

I bought a new Land Rover 2 back in March. The tax now is £210, next year is £260 and in 2010, £400+ It has low emissions and is economical to drive. My neighbour has a '98 Discovery which spews out clouds of fumes like Batman's car. But he does not have to pay the increase. P****'s me off big time.

Excellent shooting. Well done.

Well said Ferret Master. Stealthshooter, in my opinion, should not be allowed a pea shooter, let alone a shotgun. To openly brag about letting a winged pigeon run/flap around to use as a decoy is sick.

Welcome to Pigeon Watch. It's a great site.

Why don't you check out our site sponsors. They have good stuff and you get a discount for being a PW member.

May I suggest that you remove your email address. As this is an open site, you may get many unwanted emails from anti gun/shooting people. Ask PW members to contact you via PM. Steve

Thanks stuartp. That's the type I saw advertised but at a lot less cost. I'll keep on looking until I, or another PW member finds one.

Thanks. I will contact the Sportsman later today.I know there is another company out there who sells them, other than Sportsman.

About a year ago, there was an article in (I think) Shooting Sports magazine regarding a clip on device to illuminate the reticule on a scope. It retailed for around £24. Has anyone got one of these or used one? and what is the address of the manufacturer? Thanks Steve

1 rabbit or 100, as long as you enjoyed it.

I second that.

When I had my 1st shotgun certificate (36 years ago) it took 1 week. Picked up form in local police station, filled it in, told them I was shooting on farm land and waste ground. No problems. MY firearm cert' took 6 days when I applied (1983) Ever since, I have had good results from Bridgend Police (Headquarters) regarding 1-1 variations, adding extra firearms etc.

reloading kits
steve_b_wales replied to straightshooter1's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
The press with the kit is a single turret one which is okay if you are loading small quantities. But a 3 or 4 hole turret press is faster and a lot less bother. I'm going to change mine soon. Just looked in Gunmart magazine and Sportsman Gun Centre are selling the 4 hole turret kit for £98.99. -
As above. Brand new clip, not used. £11.50 inc pp SOLD to Scot the Sniper pending usual.

reloading kits

I bought the Lee anniversary kit. Nearly everything you need except the dies. You can add extra stuff as you go along. I have loaded many hundreds of different caliber rounds with my kit and have not experienced any problems at all. -
I just got a load of horse hoof clippings and boiled them up on a camping stove. I put the liquid in two bottles to ferment. Been there for about 3 months now and really stinks. Have'nt tried it out in the field yet though.
