  8. I was quoted £558 to renew my policy for my Freelander ( by Bell Ins) i went onto Confused.com and they came up with SAGA (because I am slightly over 50!) they quoted me £287 for vitually the same policy. So, good Bye Bell! My wife though, thinks it's hilarious that I'm getting discount cos' I'm over 50!!!
  9. Most gun shops will sell scope bases as well as rings. Take the rifle into your local gunshop/gunsmith and ask what they suggest.
  10. You need to get the lowest mounts possible, to enable the scope to be nearer the rifle barrel. Also, I think your scope will be a one inch tube. Go for the dearest mounts you can afford. Optilok are great but are around the £90 mark.
  11. I have tried the Raptor scope on my mate's 22-250. It's a good scope, well worth the money. Also I have tried the Nightforce Scope on another mate's .243, and it's the mutt's nuts. It depends how much money you have, and how much of it you want to part with.
  12. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the gang on Pigeon Watch
  13. Stewed Yak, when trekking in the Himalayas
  14. The safety catch can be moved sidewards to enable you to choose between firing the bottom or top barrel first. If the catch is engaging after the first shot, it may be the clip that holds the catch is worn. Is the catch very easy to put on/off, and is there any 'play' in it.
  15. For Sale. - The Truth 1 (Predator Hunter) Hunting Coyote DVD. Excellent rifle shooting of Coyotes. Viewed once. Original, not a copy! Excellent Condition. Sell for £12.00 inc p.p by recorded delivery.
  16. I'm going to join the Sanatogen Squad
  17. It's based on the 627 model and is an excellent gun. It's good in the field for rough shooting and also for pigeon/crow. The wood on it may not be the best grade, but it's okay.
  18. The Acme 'crow' caller is more suitable for jackdaws, owing to it's higher pitch. The best caller on the market for crows, in my opinion, is the Primos Power Crow call, retailing at 10 pounds. I have used this caller successfully many times on crows. I've never made a caller for magpies, but I have a callmaster digital caller ( used for foxes) and the magpie call on that is excellent. When I used it, I took many photo's of the magpies it brought in!
  19. Have you, or anyone you know, said something and then wished you hadn't. I'll start this off. Once, when on holidays in Bulgaria, I found a sock on my balcony, which had obviously fallen from one of the balcony's above. I took it down to reception and said to the receptionist, "I've found this sock on my balcony, it's no good to me, but would be suitable for someone with one leg!" A man standing nearby said, "Well I'll have that then" and proceeded to lift his trouser leg, showing off his false leg! I could have died!!! Luckily he saw the funny side of it.
  20. Heard it before, but still made me laugh.
